Re: TSS Long Shots

That nasty TSS forced me to shoot this tom this afternoon at the extremely long range of 15 yds.

Shame on me...I'm embarrassed.

TSS Long Shots

Yep, turkeys are stupid creatures. They are actually too easy to kill to need all this stuff. But, as dumb as they are, folks still have trouble killing them with out all these tents, strutters, and extra long range shot. Makes me laugh. im with mkw. I feel that turkey hunting has evolved in ...

Re: Check out this Choke.

Yea it holds a pattern. I did have a problem when I first installed it when I was sighting in it shot 5 inches low and about 8 inches the right. Other than that it seems ok. Now I wondering if improvements are to be had if this could be a problem. I would think the way those slots are cut could cau...

It's about to get started for me

Was wanting to hunt Alabama today but couldn't work it out for this weekend so will have to try again later in the season...but I did go a mile up the road to my lease first thing this morning and listen to 6 gobblers.

Hope to pull the trigger on at least one of them next weekend!

Re: Long Beard haters and why???

Imagine being there when a guy with a bow showed it to a guy with a atlatl. My arrowheads are smaller and penetrate better. My bow is light and I personally feel more confident using it. Well.... That is unethical and aginst tribe rules. You should be ashamed for killing that rabbit with your littl...

Re: Long Beard haters and why???

I fully understand that POV, I have my first gun ever a Stevens SXS FandF that screams TSS.. But for the life of me cannot understand why anyone spends extra money loading more than 1 1/4 - 1 5/16 of the stuff even in a 12 gauge.. I agree and shoot the lightest load that Hal shared with me for my 2...

No one is asking you too and if I were shooting a 12 ga I would likely be shooting longbeards too. But for my 20. 28. and 410 it is well worth the price.

Re: TSS damaging wad catchers in Indian Creek Choke

I have noticed some slight scarring in my IC 555 but after quite a few shells and several years of hunting with it I have seen no loss of pattern consistency. 300+. I use the 2-3/4, 1-7/16 load so it may use different components than what you are shooting though. I don't see any pellet perforation d...

Re: Alabama Bound !

Tim, I went up there Friday and drove around a little that afternoon picking out listening spots for the morning. Went back in the morning and now have 3 located on the roost. 2 were together in a very good location in a pine patch at the end of a hardwood ridge. There was a good bit of fresh sign i...

Re: Old Side by Sides and Ammo

Never shot them (Classic Doubles shells) and don't even like EM (EnvironMetal) but they do make a Hevi Shot load that they call "Classic Doubles" which is claimed to be made for the old guns and have less pressure. Yes sir they do. Myself and a couple others have tried them and they patte...

Re: team mates 4

Any name would be fine with me.

40.01 works for me.

Few other suggestions would be: Beard Bandits, Strut Stoppers, Small Guns & Big Toms (if we all shoot sub gauges), Pixie Dusters (if we all use TSS), Limb Hangers, Spur Collectors, Full Fan fans, etc...
