I would be all for no jakes if the population deems necessary. It is very difficult to field judge a bird for spur length. I try it whenever I see one. Even harder when hunting.

Illinois has a 10ga - 20ga slot. #4-#7.5 shot slot. In Illinois for waterfowl they restrict shot on the large end of the size spectrum.
