Re: FALL TURKEY SEASONS FOR ALL 49 STATES....
The late Jack Murray, who was one of the driving forces behind the reintroduction of turkeys in Tennessee, commented years ago, "You have no guarantee that a hen will survive the winter and breed in the spring, but if you kill her in the fall , she is guaranteed not to breed the following spri...

Re: Cove's 2017
Awesome season again brother, congrats! Did the gf make it thrpugh the season? She's been around for quite few spring seasons now, she's tough. The proof lies in those pictures, because if I wasn't certain she was going to make it she'd never gotten in on the Osceola action, guaranteed. I che...

Re: Cove's 2017
Thanks gents! Unfortunately there will not be an ounce of video from this season. My camera bit the dust on me in mid February when I was readying it for some pre season scouting. It spent the most of the first part of the season at Canon where the report came back with a very steep repair estimate....

Cove's 2017
It's June 23rd. . . . and I hate it. Everyone's showing off pictures of velvet antlered deer and giant largemouth bass while I'm sifting through pictures of springs past. . . again. The numbness that consumes me when that final sun falls on my spring season hasn't even begun to loosen it's grip. A f...

Re: Eastern hunter needs advice to hunt west
If it were me and I was driving from NC, I'd point the truck straight west for western Oklahoma for a Rio and then keep right on along to New Mexico for your Merriam. Second choice would be to shift a bit northward to hit central Kansas for my Rio and move onward to Colorado for a Merriam but you'll...

Congrats on another awesome season Doc! It was a pleasure keep up with you!
And I too need another hosting site, photobucket has turned to garbage and I have years of photos on there I'd like to save somehow. I'm afraid it isn't an option.

Re: Congratulations to Cove and TRKYHTR
Haha try thinking about Dave Owens from a turkeys perspective.... He's going to fool you as well as, if not better than, anyone around. He is going to kill you with that nasty M2. And on top of that, he is going to get all of it in 1080p HD for turkey hunters everywhere to froth at the mouth over d...

Because some of you guys seem to be knowledgeable on the subject and I'm very much not. . . what is the problem causing the sell of the lands to be discussed? The cost of maintainance/ management?

Re: Moving Louisiana's Season Later
I'm unsure about this particular move but I know we as sportsman need to get in line with our biologists more so than we are now. You would be amazed at the amounts of rules/ regulations that are politically motivated rather than science based. A hunters best friend is a motivated biologist. Many wa...

In Your Lap Gobbling- April 2016
Here is the first hunt I've cleaned up from 2016. The composition is there, the lighting was just a bit dark since everything happened right from the tree. I'll take it. Hope you enjoy.

I've toted the Franchi Affinity compact with me the past 2 seasons, I'd buy it again if I didn't want to toss the extra $$ for the M2. Lightest one I could find.

A Spring Double from 2015
I just finished up the last hunt from the 2015 season (i know, way behind). It was a rough one to put together because when you're trying to shoot and video the footage suffers. I get aggravated when editing one I know I could have captured better so this one was fiddled with, left for months, then ...
