Re: who is shooting a 28 ga pump?
I got the 28" barrel, and no, I can't tell if I got a round chambered or not, so far. Gonna have to get used to that. I took it out on Saturday after some wood ducks. I loaded up 1/2 oz of #10s. Had an improved cylinder factory flush on it. I shot at 4 ducks, and put all 4 on the water. Two wer...

Re: Franchi AL 48 - 28 guage
I shot this gun right out of the box with the factory full choke, and it's more than sufficient to 50 yds with 9s or 9-1/2s.

Re: TSS for Deer?
The 4mm are about #1 size, the 4.5mm are the size of Daisy BBs, or #B in typical hunting shot, and the 5mm are about #T. The first deer shot with the #1s I have was a small buck at 67 lasered yards several years ago. The shooter counted 16 pellets that hit the deer, and 13 of them passed completely ...

Last season the achilles rupture made me miss the season, so I'm doubly excited to get out there this fall.

Re: who is shooting a 28 ga pump?
I took it out yesterday after some crows and went two for two (9/16 oz of 9-1/2). The gun really feels nice. It's definitely a keeper.

Re: who is shooting a 28 ga pump?
I went out Saturday morning after some doves in the wake of tropical storm Hermine, and had almost no action. So, I took it back out yesterday morning after some crows and gave it a fair workout. I went through a box of shells and did OK. Missed a lot of shots I should have made and made some pretty...

Re: who is shooting a 28 ga pump?
I haven't shot it yet, so not sure about the trigger. Was hoping to do it this afternoon, but not sure I'll be able to get things done in time. I want to take it out after doves and ducks this fall. It throws up just right for me. I got the 28" barrel and plan on trying the full choke with the ...

The problem with jakes is that sometimes they think they are too big for their britches and just need to die.

Re: playing with western hens
Great video, Hal! Isn't that a 2nd strutter in the lower right portion of the screen at 35-37 seconds? No, the hens were fighting, and had their fans flared a lot right before the video started, and up until the last part of the video. But the one tom was all there was. You can hear them fussing at...

Re: 28 ga dove load
I'm tempted to try some TSS #10s this year out of the 28 ga for doves if the situation is right. They give 1.25" to about 50+ yds. I'm thinking about 9/16 or 5/8 oz....
