Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary
Well I picked up the 28 today and took it to the patterning board. Here is the best I came up with, with what I had loaded up. I was shooting the factory improved mod choke on this pattern. The factory full and Carlsons extended full seemed over choked. I had spotty patterns with them. The gun is sh...

Re: Scope mount for 1187 20ga
I had my 1187 20 drilled and tapped. I bought a saddle mount also and luckily I didn't waist my time with it because of the fit. They do make a rib mount but I'm not sure who makes it. I might have seen it on amazon.

I looked at a 4-10 today. The stock is centered up. No left or right cast off.howl wrote:If you look down the vent rib from the muzzle end, does the buttstock angle off to the left?

Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary
Sounds good! I might run 2 extended chokes. I am guessing the bottom barrel will shoot a bit low but I am hoping not.

Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary
Got the choke ordered. Is there enough room to put 2 extended chokes in, one in the upper and one in the lower barrel?

Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary
I use a .531 Carlson extended choke on mine and it prints really tight. My kids all used that gun for their fall turkey hunts and it worked great except at 15 yards the pattern in the size of a baseball causing a couple misses. I was going to fiddle with my tss load to open the pattern a little bit...

Re: 28 gauge ATI Calvary
I was looking for something like that last night but could not come up with anything. I did a search and got some 20 and 410's but no 28's.

Shotguns that don't need optics (need one)
Ok guys I am tired of playing with red dots and such and I am looking for 20 and 28 gauge shotguns that shoot POI without having to add optics to the gun.

I had some water on my FastfireII. It does very bad things. If it hits it right you have no dot at all.

Re: A few minutes to spare today
Yes sir. I couldn't believe what I saw when I walked up to the target. I was in shock because I shot the lead only choke last year with not so good results. Here is a pic of the packaging the choke came in. I think it's actually .577.

A few minutes to spare today
So I took out the 11-87 and put 3 patterns on paper. All are 40 yrds. My Burris fast fire is causing me a little grief but I was able to keep the most important part of the patterns on paper. First is Shooters 93-90 loads and #9's The first pattern was shot through a Sumtoy 562-5. I don't have #'s o...

Looking for a new 28gauge
Thanks for sharing 2shooter! That pattern looks nice.. That is what I am looking for. A gun that I don't need to mess with sights or chokes. A right out of the box good patterning straight shooter.

I looked everywhere for one of these rib mounts a couple years back and couldn't find one. Ended up having my receiver drilled and tapped. Thanks for the info!!

Can you 28 gauge shooters give me some idea's as to what is a good buy for a good reliable 28? I found a Tristar semi at a local shop. I think the price was right around $425. The gun is used but looks to be barely shot or not shot at all.

Re: benelli sbe2
I had hang ups in both my SBEII's with a roll crimp and fold crimp. Had some cycle and some jam. I couldn't trust the guns not to jam so I went to a 3" 2 oz load and not one problem after that. I sold my first SBEII and just recently sold the second one. Time for a different semi 12.

Re: Stoeger Condor
I guess I will have to handle a couple guns to see how they fit. The Stoeger fits pretty well. I was checking out the Stevens also but I haven't been able to handle one yet. Maybe a trip to Cabelas tomorrow if they have any over/unders on hand just to handle a few and see how they feel.
