19). Big-horned killer goats
And a better chance of seeing BigFoot with a Lil Monkey on his shoulder than killing a turkey.

Re: Green Swamp WMA in Florida
By my accounting, you run the risk of encountering: 1). Hordes of out-of-State hunters 2). Record numbers of mosquitoes 3). Gators galore 4). Cottonmouth moccasins 5). Rattlers 6). Big-ass pythons 7). Bears 8). More lightning & thunderstorms than anywhere 9). Floods 10). Bigfoot 11). Lil monkeys...

Keep an eye on the sky too. Florida’s the lightning capital of the U.S. If the toothy critters don’t get you, lightning just might. Luckily you should miss the start hurricane season. Im sure it will be a blast...

D. Henry Shipes — Vernon, Florida...well, posthumously anyway. ;) Get out of the way Ben Lee, Tom Kelley, Ray Eye, Cove... Ole Henry might be the deadliest turkey hunter you’ve never heard of. Natural voice caller at that. Check out Netflix or YouTube’s archive of the movie “Vernon, Florida” (1981)....

If you could get it to pattern halfway decent, what’s not to like?

Unless y’all are neighbors, you’ll have to incur shipping costs. Any halfway reputable gunsmith can do it well and in minutes. Likely well under $40/hole.

Re: Harvest #s on hunting clubs
Obviously there are some small tracts that just “hold” a lotta turkeys. Maybe year after year. Great if that’s your place. However, for every oasis there’s at least one desert. On any sizable scale in your part of the world (where roost trees are well distributed), best I’ve heard of is a sustained ...

Re: How was your season?
I rated mine “average” a few weeks ago based on the number of turkeys that I connected with. But...as I reflect with the clarity of hindsight, it was one of the more gratifying seasons I’ve experienced in 42 years of trying to figure them things out. I met some willing turkeys and maybe few who were...

About $20/hole. Go with a 336 style mount (only 2 holes) for $40-ish.

Re: Options to replace Dura finish
Should have just called Winchester to begin with. A three minute phone call and they are sending me a shipping label to have it shipped back to be sanded and refinished with a new type of finish. They're also going to check on an issue i've been having with cycling. Just amazes me to see a company ...

The only thing I’ve ever been able to tell about age from the beards or spurs of any turkey I’ve killed is he’s as old as he’s gonna get.

In a couple of those photos of 25+ lb birds, looks like your gun must weigh at least 15 lbs. Just its proximity...what are you shooting???

Re: turkey seat butt hurt
The turkey seat delima.... weight vs comfort. I don't have much natural padding myself so I need at least a pad.I hunt public land and walk a lot so although the turkey chairs are comfortable there just too heavy for my hunting. I think we already have enough super shells and red dot scopes. Someon...

Re: 870 20 gauge Choke
Central, Clinton County. Hopefully I can get the barrel polished up and try again this weekend when the weather is better. I've done this in the past with multiple 12 gauges and was looking for a choke that would definitely throw a decent pattern to start with and haven't found that yet. With the m...

I shoot both bead and reflex sight. The latter was never a consideration until I discovered turkey chokes and paired them with LB’s or TSS.

Re: FF3- 3 moa or 8 moa
Personal choice. Either is fine...I’ve got both. Vastly prefer the 8 MOA for a scattergun. Much quicker acquisition for me with the 8. If the 8 is obscuring too much of a turkey, he’s either too far or too small to shoot.

Sweet shooting gun. Maybe my favorite among several 20’s. Don’t know what you plan to shoot through it, but can tell you that that Carlson 575 is extraordinarily tight with 1.625 ounces of TSS; at least it is with the 26” barrel. You’ll appreciate that dot...
