Re: Vests
Haven't went vestless yet, but def hauling less and less to the woods. I do really like my Knight's Hands Free vest, it is kind of a minimalist vest. I am down to a pot, a box, and some mouth calls. Thanks for turning me on to the Wranglers, best turkey hunting pants ever!

It has a little pop to it for sure, not like I was expecting at all. Just stout, not a punisher like a Longbeard.

Same gun and choke. I think each shell was slightly different. Have to wait for Hal to chime in. If ya look at overall 20" numbers they are very close.

Are we talking about for deer or coyotes? Coyotes to 100 would be much easier.

Re: 100 yard buckshot
I have patterned some 2 3/4" 1 1/4oz TSS 4mm to 60. It has plenty of pattern density and penetration energy for that distance. I would think you would need to shoot a fast load of 1 3/4oz of maybe 4.5-5mm to get acceptable density and penetration at 100. Still be a stretch I think.

Re: Joe Wirth & Apex
This guys did some interesting testing http://www.predatormastersforums.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3074269. I wonder if 6's would still pattern ok thru turkey choke. Most if my yote hunting is opportunistic while I am after a turkey. Be nice to have a load that would smoke one...

Re: 20 ga. 1-5/8 TSS vs. Same in 12 ga.
I would say you are right on all accounts. You would have more room to speed up the load and still be in safe pressures.
I don't know the shot strings would compare.

It may work, but may be to tight if a choke. I would find a .720ish choke for tss.

Re: why a 20 over 12
ok question most guys say 20 will do everything a 12 will my question is wouldn't a 12 gauge 3 1/2" shooting tss9 kill farther..? its got to have more whop behind it Not necessarily. A #9 pellet going 1100fps is going to have same amount of energy no matter if it is fired out of a 10 gauge or ...
