Re: Stoeger 3020
My brother has dressed up a 3020. Dipped in bottomland, drilled/ tapped and topped with a FFII. I'll try to dig up a picture. He's still gotta run the TSS to figure out the choke situation but it's a slick looking setup.

Thanks. No wife but a very understanding girlfriend (she really has no choice). And a full time job that I must at least pretend to care about during the spring. . . .BeardBuster wrote:Congratulations! I'm envious. Question I have is do you have a wife or any other commitments in the spring time?

Re: Cove's Spring 2016
Thanks again guys! Wish I had gotten better footage this season but it just didn't work out that way. Most of what I have is straight from the limb stuff which always means its a little dark. Do have a young'un killing his second gobbler though. . . that was fun. I was behind him on his first but a ...

Re: Head Steppin !
Cove, you've just become an elitist since you got your super slam. We are all jealous and hate you for it. And I'm also completely joking. I can't add much to the discussion. I've taken a few great pics, but mostly a bunch of "bad" ones. I think it is great how you take the time to proper...

Re: Head Steppin !
It's very obvious that we handle our birds differently, I believe that's apparent to everyone now. And like I stated before, there is no right or wrong way. . . I applaud you for taking a picture, it's not necessary and many folks do not. If you would like to continue to question the reasoning for m...

Re: Head Steppin !
I for one, wouldn't leave my gobbler in the bed of my truck to get rained on. . . but here again, another difference in the way we handle our business. Interested to hear what you would have done! I didn't leave it in the bed to be rained on !!! I took some pics on the tailgate as a huge storm came...

Also noticed in the original post you asked for pictures of boots on heads. I didn't have that so I should have carried on without comment. I assume I was feeding off the other replies. Lesson Learned.

Re: Head Steppin !
I personally hate pictures of a dead gobbler laying on a cooler next to my truck tailgate ! LOL :dontknow:  I assume you are referring to my picture showing my living arrangements while on the road. If you found that distasteful, my apologies. I did it more to illustrate the way I do things w...

Re: Head Steppin !
I agree with several on here, boot/ head pictures just don't do it for me. Never liked it. I let them die in peace while standing nearby. If he's flopping, I pick him up by his head. It seems to accelerate the process, possibly because his body weight is pulling down on the neck further separating t...

Re: What is wrong with this tom's tail?
Yep. I assumed the feathers were pulled out from fighting, predator, etc. What is weird is I encountered this several times this season. I found that many of those times it was a bird taken out of a group of 2 year old turkeys, which made me believe they were fighting/ sparring continuously and bust...

Awesome Doc! It was a pleasure sharing a camp with you in VT. Look forward to catching up in a few weeks. Your pictures "sit well" with me. . . those Florida palmettos and cypress heads make me itch for spring 2017 already. And that Indiana ridge top you're allowed to call home, man, one o...

Cove's Spring 2016
It was a Vermont farmer a couple weeks ago that asked me, "Well, what else do you do besides turkey hunt?" After a moment that was quickly becoming an awkward silence I replied, "Unfortunately, nothing. Nothing I enjoy anyway." While that's not entirely true, it is a fact that al...
