So are you recommending taking an anti-worm medication instead of or in addition to being vaccinated? Just curious.

Re: Air Rifle

Have never shot a Hatsan. Shot a Gamo once. It had the worst trigger I have ever pulled. Had no desire to own one after that. I have a Beeman R7. Super accurate. Great trigger. Have killed lots of black birds and a fair number of squirrels with it. Head shots only for the squirrels. It doesn't have ...

TSS 2s and 3s brackett lead 4Buck, with 2s having slightly more penetration (5.6") than 4B (5.4") and 3s (5.1") having slightly less when launched at the same velocity.

Re: 28 gauge chokes

You didn't say what loads you are shooting, but if shooting TSS, I wouldn't want two Indian Creeks in the gun anyway. No good argument for an O/U vs a pump or semi unless you are going to use two different chokes for optimal short and long range performance. I would run the IC of your choice in the ...

Re: O/U or SxS question

Light mod in top barrel (12 ga) gets me to 40 yds with good wiggle room with 1.25 oz of reclaimed TSS 9x8.5s. Started experimenting with the open barrel concept loading 1.25 oz lead 7s through cyl choke. That combo was good to 20 yds. IC got me to 25 yds. But I wanted to be able to shoot to 40 yds ...

Re: Tss shell to shell inconsistency ?

It's really easy, especially if you have a drill press. Never tried it with a hand drill. Works fine I'm sure, but would be a little harder to keep the bit square with the shell. I will echo PCP's invitation that if you ever get to NC, I would be happy to tighten them up for you.

Re: 20 gauge 7x9 Duplex TSS

Most people stack the bigger shot on top because it doesn’t slow down as fast as the smaller shot so it patterns better that way. As far as patterns go mine always look the same as far as the size and evenness go the numbers change based on how many pellets you put in the shell. Basically and 7x9 l...

Re: 28ga. double or auto

I have a couple of Beretta O/Us and have done a ton of patterning and testing. I have not found significant differences between the two barrels of either of them with regards to choke tubes. Both barrels shoot virtually the same.

Re: barrel length

It sometimes takes a little more choke to get the short barrels to pattern as well as the longer ones, but I have seen some stellar patterns from 20-22" barrels. Downside, and some will argue, but shorter barrels will generally lose a little velocity compared to a longer one. And the shorter ba...

Re: 12 ga. Benelli Mobil Chokes with TSS

Thanks for the input, guys. This thread is over a year old, and my buddy decided that what he had was good enough. Wouldn't be for me, but it's his dime. I told him my ST .675 does 345/10 with 1&5/8 oz of TSS 9s, but he decided to stick with what he has.

Re: Velocity ...fps?

Agreed Hoobilly. Speed is all the rage with current marketing. Everybody wants 1400 fps upland loads and 1500+ fps steel loads. About all that buys you is punishing recoil and mediocre patterns. But if you are in the business of selling stuff, you have to produce what they want to buy. That's why I ...

Re: Velocity ...fps?

Wonder why they made that load 1000? Probably to avoid exceeding SAAMI pressure limits. You can only push that much shot so fast before exceeding safe pressures. IMO, that is a gross waste of TSS. I load 1.625 oz in a 2.75" 12 gauge shell @ 1100 fps, and it will kill further than I am willing ...
