Long Beard and Choke Size
Tested 4 different chokes today with Long Beard #6s. It was not optimal weather with temperature at 38 degrees, humidity 35 percent and wind at 4 mph. The gun was a Remington 870 Super Mag with Burris FF III shooting SSX .643; Kicks .655; Jelly Head .660; and Pure Gold .670. Probably no statistical ...

Re: "Doc"
I agree Clark. I got Doc's book for Christmas and it was great reading about his hunts across America. One of the reasons I attended the NWTF Convention was to meet him and talk with him about hunting turkeys. Found out the he may even come to Southeastern Illinois to hunt this spring.

Re: 870 super mag 12ga
I use Hevi Shot #7 with a Jelly Head choke(.660) with my Super Mag. I will pattern a new Pure Gold choke (.670) that Clark recommended to see if the pattern is any better. The SSX choke (.643) seemed to be a little tight.

I am using a Remington 12 ga SuperMag Turkey gun with a Burriss FF3 and Jellyhead choke. I shoot Hevi 13 #7. Sometimes I use a Benelli Super Vinci with Indian Creek choke.

Re: Introductions...
I think I screwed up. Too many good hunters on this team. May have to break it up.  Just for the record, the average # of Long Beards taken last Spring was "4" per team 4 member! I don't know how big those birds get in Florida; we have two members from there, but the Long Beard...
