Re: Browning 10ga Gold.
They are heavy but that's part of what makes them so soft to shoot. I would FAR rather shoot the right 10 ga than a 3.5" 12 ga. In the right scenario, there's no beating a good 10 gauge. You may not need it but for gobblers that hang up or pass shooting geese they are really nice.

Re: guided options for Eastern turkeys
I looked at the club option in GA. I don’t think that works for me but thanks for suggesting it.
Should have mentioned earlier that my main availability for this Eastern hunt would be the first 3 weeks of May.

Re: guided options for Eastern turkeys
I wish I had private TX land to offer for a hunt swap. Unfortunately, no.

Re: guided options for Eastern turkeys
Heard back quickly from Pennyrile...hunt is semi-guided. I thought it might be for that low price. Unfortunately, the one hunt date they had listed that worked for me is sold already. Super nice guy though.

Re: Last Years Survivors
Anyone have any survivors from last year that they have been looking forward to tangling with again. I’ve got two that have kept me up at night over the last year. The Alabama bird is one of those gobblers that will gobble every other day if he remembers. I don’t like hunting him. I hope a bobcat g...

Re: guided options for Eastern turkeys
Hah...thanks for the invite Gil.
I didn't see on Pennyrile's website where it specified the hunt was guided. If it is, I'm pretty interested in that hunt.

Re: Browning 10ga Gold.
I added a Browning Gold 26" 10 this year to my AyA and Beretta 10 doubles. Plans are for geese and turkey. Considered the SP-10 but preferred the Browning Gold. Got a Briley extended mag tube for snow geese also.

Re: 4 gauge 'Grand Slam' on turkeys
Pretty awesome. How close are your .410 shots? You should add the 10 gauge to it.

Re: guided options for Eastern turkeys
Good point. I will take that into consideration. Any suggestions on hunt clubs with Eastern turkeys? I haven't done that before. To be candid, that's one of my least fav things about TX...all the leased ground but I understand why.

guided options for Eastern turkeys
I'm going for my grand slam this year and have my plans in place except for Eastern turkey. I have family in MO and plan to do some hunting there but would like to have something with higher success odds than hunting on land where "we saw some turkey last week" kind of thing. I never have ...

Re: Merriam Hunt
I'm doing a 2 bird hunt with Gobble N Grunt in NE this spring. They have enough birds to guarantee shots or you can come back next year. They say only they've only done that once in 16 years. They are heavily booked right now but there are a few slots still open.
