The lightest out there is the Yildiz 410 single shot from Academy shooting TSS. It comes in at around 3.5 pounds with a Burris FF3 on top.

My personal lightest is a Savage 949C 20 gauge with a 24 inch barrel and a 12.5 inch length of pull. Unfortunately it is out of commission right now...

Thanks yelpy! My grandfather taught me to hunt turkeys and had used a 1300 NWTF Laminated since 1984. That gun has kill over 150 birds that I know about and who knows how many more. I would really like the short turkey to have a pair. I have a boy due in a couple weeks so I would really like for him...

Yeah the seasons over, but jow it's planting time. Getting ready for dark nights in June to plant the fall crops for the wildlife.

Turkey season is a year round thing for me.

I sent mine back to CZ and they came back at 4.5 lbs each.

Mark Dehaan is the man on CZ triggers (well all their internals) but I don't know what he charges.

I keep a set of Frog Togs in the truck all the time and if it is really pouring I sit in the truck and keep them company!

If it is a drizzle, I just go hunting like normal.

Re: Thinking about getting my own 20.

Next year my son will be able to carry his youth 870 on his own. That leaves me without a 20 gauge, unless I use the Bantam 500. I could do that but I'd like to standardize on choke tubes. I'm thinking about a semi. I'm assuming that all Remington 870 chokes will work with the 11-87, etc. Are there...

Re: Best over and under 20 gauge

If I was going to buy a new O/U 20 gauge it would be a Citori Micro Midas with 24" barrels. I have held one quite a few times, but I have never pulled the trigger since I have the CZ SxS 20 and don't really need another double barrel right now.

new 20

I'm finishing out the season with 1-5/8 TSS, but next year will be shooting 1-7/16 or maybe even 1-1/4. I've watched a lot of turkeys take a hard death with my daughters 1-1/4 oz load of 9.5's. It's hard to want to send more shot down range at the price it is. I am leaning to the 1 5/8 ounce loads ...
