Re: 410 Gauge constriction .380, .385, .390

I think you have to consider that all guns vary a little. Sure there are trends to what they like and that’s where you start, but each one can be different. Best I remember if you buy direct from IC, they will let you swap chokes til you are satisfied. not just yet on these 410 chokes. due to the t...

Re: Favorite carry gun

Well after 300 rounds of Winchester White Box and 60 rounds of 124 grain Sig V Crown, the M&P 2.0 Compact is officially the new everyday carry.

It’s riding comfortably in a Crossbreed Reckoning.

For that money I’ll be sticking with Browning/Benelli/Beretta.

If street price is less than $1k, then it possibly does ok.

Re: Favorite carry gun

I too, carry a S&W Shield in 9mm. I switch off with a CZ Protek in 9mm, also. My pocket carry is a Kahr PM9. I am going to buy a Sig 365XL soon, for higher capacity in a fairly small frame. Buddy of mine at work has that Sig and it’s a fine weapon. Super easy to shoot and plenty accurate the fe...

Favorite carry gun

So what’s your favorite carry gun? I’ve carried a S&W Shield 40 with crimson trace laser for probably 5 years in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I recently decided I wanted more capacity and just ordered a S&W M&P 2.0 9mm Compact with a 4” barrel. Got a Crossbreed Reckoning holster coming for it...

That really looks good Gil.

It ought to be a right fine turkey slayer with a light handload.

A guy up in Michigan that I work with some makes the best maple syrup I’ve ever eaten. It’s a completely different taste and texture than anything you can get in the store.

Re: Federal Heavyweight #6

I have a 21” 870 with a Sumtoy 562-5 that will consistently do 110 - 120 with them and I have a few boxes put away just in case.

A buddy has a pardner single shot with a 22” modified barrel that does 90-100 with them consistently. He too has a few put back.

In a pump of auto, I prefer 21”-22”.

In a break action, I like 26”.

I have the 562 as well.

Honestly, if I did it over I’d go at least 570. My 562 is a little hot for me.

Re: Which 28ga

I like it a lot. I haven’t hunted it as I ran out of time by the time I got it this season. It’s light. It sits well on the knee. Two chokes, two triggers gives wide 20 yard pattern and tight 40-50 yard pattern at the slight readjusting of my finger. I also have shot a 20 gauge CZ side by side for y...

Re: Which 28ga

I just went through this and I came down to three options:

Double barrel - Bobwhite
Auto - AL48 or A400
Pump - Ithaca 37

I bought a bobwhite off the classifieds here.

There’s nothing wrong with 20 gauge. I don’t understand why a couple 20 autos won’t cycle certain shells...
