Re: mothers day tradition
It tastes much, much,MUCH better than eating Crow!! In all seriousness sounds like an awesome tradition that you have with your mom, congrats on your fine season and I hope this tradition lives on forever. My wife and in-laws(outlaws!) were non wild game eaters, not by choice, none of them were hunte...

Re: Shotguns...TSS...all overrated!!
I believe it. I had something similar happen a few years back, had 2 fool-gobbling jakes come in and they went to fighting each other. They were less than 10 yards from us, and while they were beak locked I stood up and walked right up beside them within inches of them and it didn't bother them 1 bi...

Re: Anybody killed turkeys with factory 410 hevi shot loads
I made a mistake, it was #6 hevi-shot instead of #4. I don't have any left or the old box but I looked them up and saw them in 6's and I remembered then that it was 6's instead of 4's. And Doc made a good point about the yardage. Start at 20 and move in 5 yard increments. I had not read his post unt...

Re: Anybody killed turkeys with factory 410 hevi shot loads
I have. Hevi-13 classic doubles I believe is what it was. I bought a couple of boxes but only kept 1, gave 2 to a buddy, in Ohio. The particular load was 11/16 oz of #4 hevi-shot, and I believe that calculated out to about 96 pellets. I know of 4 birds that were killed from the box of 10 that I ende...

Re: Bottomland.....original or current???
I'm not a real big fan of the new bottomland. At 1st glance it does look like the original but usually from a distance. Both will do the job, however I'm more partial to the original bottomland.

My question is what business is it of anybody's how you obtained the Winchester, Mossberg, Benelli or any other gun? Or what gun you use. Exactly! And I'll add my .02 in this thread, Although I have never been smart enough to shoot a mossy with a scope, I've shot one plenty enough without it, and s...

I bought me two of those chokes. I'm impressed. I saw it on YouTube so it has to be true. Since you bought 2, does that mean a 55 gallon drum full of Spurs?! I'm gonna have to break down and get me 1 or 2 as well. What's not to like about them? Mix in some TSS and I can leave my calls at home, hell...

What if I said while I was out there in Yosemite I had a black tailed buck walk out of the woods and come eat popcorn out of my hand, would you believe me then? Re: Red Touch Yellow?
I've only seen 1 coral snake in my life, and it was in California. Back in 98 after I graduated High School, I took a trip to Yosemite National Park, and while hiking one day I ran across a rattle snake that was huge, well over 6ft long. I dang near stepped on him before I saw him, never expected to...

No need to realign the SEC west!! We like having all out teams ranked, sure the rankings will shuffle from week to week due to us playing each other but that's how we like it! That way you're playing good teams week in and week out. Let me steal a quote from the Nature Boy" TO BE THE MAN, YOU G...

Great read buddy, I felt as if I were there with you! I love old stories and pics like this. I have a yeti koozie(actually got it for my wife) and their tumblr, they both work really good. It recently expired therefore opening the door to several competitors. I ...
