Re: SA20 tactical IC562 vs 570

My Carlson's .570 won't do those numbers. Usually around 250 in the 10". Those are all good patterns. 250 in the 10 isn’t bad by any means. You are prolly getting 250 more in the 20 which makes a very forgiving hunting pattern. I think I will stick with that in my SA 20. I may turn my single s...

Re: Deer blind in the works

Build out a little cubby hole on one wall to put a portable heater. Out of the way and doesn't take up floor space that way. Being cold in the stand isn't fun anymore. I like the price you have going on there!

Kingslayer puts a lot of light back at your eye. You can turn it down but, it’s a bit much. I have one. Outside that, it is fine.

Re: Longer barrel necessary?

Some of it depends on the powder used. I'm sure our reloaders could give more on that. Like Dtrkyman, my 20 gauge has a 22" barrel and give great TSS patterns. Remember, you're probably adding a 2" choke to the barrel length. I have chrongraphed any of my loads so I can't say if how much i...

Mine accounted for two birds this spring. Bird 3 was taken with the SX3. No gripes, that Mcarbo spring is worth the money. The trigger is good.

Re: ebike for hunting

:? For whatever reason this seems to be a new topic to many. In Florida it is not. To many's dismay e bikes are currently highly restricted on Florida WMAs and public lands. Only class one bikes without throttles are legal as of now. The e bike whiners are hard at work lobbying to get this changed ...

Re: 20 vs 28

They shoot the same weight of shot so I guess it comes down to which one you want to carry and shoot. I've seen some pretty incredible 28 patterns that are every bit the match of a 20 ga pattern. I've not shot a 28 ga but it seems to be a choice of preference, not performance.

Re: Neatest thing you saw while turkey hunting this year. (besides Turkeys)

I saw a hen break into strut standing on a fallen tree. I saw a bobcat trying to hunt a flock of turkeys out in front of me. They busted him pretty quick. I jumped a hen who was hiding in a bush along a highway. I think she may have been nesting there. Sparse country amd I busted her out before firs...

Re: Hearing protection

I wear the Tetra amp pod 90’s… best money I’ve spent in years. My directional hearing is terrible since I have more loss in my right ear. However the Tetras have corrected that. I can now hear lots of sounds in the turkey woods that I’ve been missing for years. I got some this year. They help a lot...

I didn’t know that. Good info that will factor into my next reflex sight.

Re: Mossberg SA-20 Tactical Turkey

I like mine. I just put a Carlson’s .570 in it and a Kingslayer green dot on it. 250 in the 10” circle at 40. Good 20” pattern too.
I left the sights on. I may remove them some day but they actually would work well if my eyes were younger I think. In a bind I could remove the dot and hunt them.
