Re: Looking for choke suggestions for my M2 20 26"
Thank you for the reply's. I did try shooting the vp 90's with not as deep of slits. The patterns seemed worse than if they were slit 1/8" from the bottom. I also shot the tps wad. I believe I did get a barrel that isn't so great but I'd still like to try and get a little more out of it. I'll p...

Re: Looking for choke suggestions for my M2 20 26"
I also thought about the loads a bit but they work very well in my other 20's.
Good idea on another IC choke.

Re: Looking for choke suggestions for my M2 20 26"
Hal's and Shooters recipe's. Both are shooting the same. VP90 wad and pt2090 wad. I was thinking of trying them with half or no buffer just to see what happens. The .582 choke is a bit too open. The Hevi choke pattern is open also. Maybe a 565 or 570 or maybe it wants a tighter choke or heavier payl...

Looking for choke suggestions for my M2 20 26"
I'm looking for some suggestions. I've shot 1 5/8 oz 9's and 1 5/8 oz 9 1/2 x 9's out of an IC .555, Jebs .560, Sumtoy .562, hevi 13 .578 and undertaker .582. The best I'm getting is 288 in the 10 with the IC but the 20 is sparse with big wholes in the 20. The Jebs is a nice even pattern all around ...

Re: Speed bead mount vs receiver mount.
I've used the speed bead on my SBE2 and it was great. If the ff decides to quit you can still use the front bead to kill a gobbler. I didn't have any trouble with poi shift. The speed bead was solid.
I bought an M2 and plan on putting one on it.

I'm looking forward to the fall season also. I normally dont strictly hunt birds in the fall. My spring season was a wash so I need redemption. LOL

My guess for that light pay load would be a .660 or tighter.

Re: jealousy or unsportsmanlike
A buddy of mine had a guy sh!! by his driver's door so he would step in it. And he sure as heck had a mess in his truck after stepping in it.
I wouldnt take a stunt like that as lightly as he did.

Re: Remington® Model 870 SPS Super Mag Turkey vs Turkey/Predator
I think it's more the load and choke combo that would make the difference in how they would pattern.

Re: Remington® Model 870 SPS Super Mag Turkey vs Turkey/Predator
I have a 23" that shoots some great 40yrd patterns with tss 8's. It patterns better than the SBE II's I had. One was a 24" and the other was a 26". I don't think you would see much a difference between the 20 and 23" barrels but my preference would be the 23" barrel because ...

Re: Mossberg 500, Carlson .575, BIG 20XL
That nice for the big 20 xl. I shot the same set up minus 2" of barrel. It will smoke a Turkey for sure. I now went to a shorter barreled 500, older youth model and still have shot 300 in the 10 at 40 with a hevi 13 choke. A sumtoy 562 will tighten it up even more. Sent from my SM-J727VPP using...

Yes it is a Rem 870. The sights are junk. Any suggestions? I am thinking of swapping the barrel out to a vent rib and getting the receiver drilled and tapped.

Re: Missed one today with TSS! (first time using TSS)
I missed 5 longbeards last year and 2 so far this year. all 7 missed were between 10 and 18 yards. I cant shoot for **** and I don't care. I get tore up bad man. as Jamey stated, there will always be another chance. If you are getting them in that close I would shoot a more open choke for some wigg...
