Re: The NEW turkey hunters
I like blinds, but drapes look nicer, and wife prefers lacy ones. :toothy7: I'm ok with anything that's legal in your area - blinds are great for kids, bad weather, afternoon naps, folks with restricted movement; if the day comes where it's sit in a blind or don't go, I'll have me a blind. I prefer ...

Re: Got The Garden In.
Candy Onions are sweeter and keep better in PA soil. Stored all winter, ate last one late April. I like incredible corn, but BODACIOUS freezes better. Both are better value in our area 1 lb for around $10 - Ambrosia costs more. We buy a lb each of incredible and bodacious and give to a buddy to plan...

Nice looking plot - it's good for the soul to play in the dirt!
I have 20 tomato plants and 300 or so candy onions planted.

Re: Hardest PA. season ever!
Last 2 years it's been odd in SE PA - neighboring farms birds would gobble, and silent at next farm -Cousin and I have permission to hunt 3 farms 10-12 miles apart - I had birds gobbling single or paired, and he never got them out of bachelor groups last year. I was blessed to score on 2 birds early...

I'm hoping to run into a coyote with mine, and hopefully NEVER see one of those piggies in my neck of the woods; we have them in central PA (Bedford County) which is near me - let loose / escaped from hi-fence operation.

One of these mornings, the lite switch will go on and woods will lite up - hope you're there to witness it! PA season last 2 years has had sporadic gobbling, varies by farm, cousin and i hunt about 4 miles apart, we've never had good gobbling days the same day. Hens and Jake's everywhere. Come Fall ...

my fall gun is Valmet .223 / 12 ga; it's a bit heavier than the Savage models I was familiar with, but I'm very happy.

Figure I better give you a profile to get up to speed: 1. I can usually read sarcasm, 'cept when it involves talking to the wife. 2. I've been known to shoot a Jake, when he gobbles to the gun after 2 hours and did so this Spring. 3. Need to learn about TSS, I'm a Winchester Supremes Shell guy, and ...
