Re: New Jersey Jake Down.

It will get worse for forgetting as you get older. There will be a day when you drive 2 hrs. to your favorite honey hole for big Toms then walk 2 miles in the dark while stumbling on stumps and rocks due to the less than a single candle light coming from your flashlight because you forgot to buy ne...

Re: Small bore lead patterns

Shells are about the smallest expense you'll have each turkey season. Now, I shot 7.5 shot dove loads from my new NEF build last night to sight it in... and it had a really good pattern at about 30 yards. But, that was from an aftermarket expensive choke. I guess it depends on where you want to spen...

Re: NEF Pardner 18.5"

Here's the actual photo of the TW pattern. When I look at it before I 'dot' everything with the marker, the pattern never seems to look as good to me. I guess the analytics and the marker enhancement doesn't lie, though. I can't use the IC .555 choke because it lives on my son's 870, haha... I do wa...

Re: NEF Pardner 18.5"

Yep, I have a FF3 on it. I would like to get up around 275. I am probably going to try some more open chokes... I got some patchiness that you can't really see all that well in the analysis... and I've had someone tell me that reducing the powder charge a bit can really improve patterns? I guess it'...

NEF Pardner 18.5"

I was able to get about everything done with my NEF build and try a few chokes tonight. First off, I definitely need a Limbsaver recoil pad on this. It's pretty brutal with the hard buttplate. Total weight: 5 lb. 11 oz. NEF Pardner 20 gauge, cut to 18.5". Threaded with RemChoke. Shooting the Bi...

Re: If you go to Missouri, better have a plugged gun

That's why I usually have a regular shirt or UnderArmour hoodie either under my hunting jacket or in my truck to change into after hunting, and to wear on the way to my spot. Not that I'm doing anything wrong, I just don't care to be pulled over and go through the hassle and waste my time. I figure ...

Re: If you go to Missouri, better have a plugged gun

So you didnt read the laws before you went? They are not the only state that requires a plug so next time maybe you should read the states laws before you go there to hunt. actually, I did get on their website and look around before I went but must have overlooked this rule. In my home state it has...

Angert's Hydrographics He does all my deer skulls, etc. I just had a Tikka CTR dipped in Kryptec reduced. Just got it back yesterday. Flawless. He stands by his work with a lifetime warranty. Shot my son's youth 870 today to make sure it was "on" for youth season Saturday. Figured I'd run it through analytics.

322 in the 10".

.555 IC choke, Big 20 XL #9s.

Re: The NEW turkey hunters

^^ Agree, my son is now 12, we used blinds a LOT when he was younger so I could help him get set up on approaching gobblers, etc. Now, he wants to run and gun. Which is good... but we still put out a couple blinds in good spots so we have somewhere to go when it's raining, or if we want to relax a b...

Do you have a good source for the stainless steel rings? That's what I wanted to do for mine, but shipping is a killer for those on ebay and such.

Re: Made my first turkey tote.

Maybe three hours, but it was my first time. I had to learn the weave, and there was a bit of a learning curve and a few YouTube videos haha. I could probably do one in half the time now.

I think my next project is going to be an adjustable sling for my shotgun.

It was a fun project, I think I need to make an adjustable sling for my shotgun next, haha!

Hopefully my son can get a longbeard's feet into those ropes next Saturday when PA youth season opens!

Re: ? about tru choke

It's too late for you, but I think a lot of gun smiths do what comes easy to them. RemChokes equipment isn't as widespread as other chokes, especially for 20 gauge. I had a shotgun barrel chopped at a local "gunsmith" (I use that term VERY lightly) after he swore that he could install RemC...

Re: NEF 20 gauge single shot stock reviews?

I have the ATI on my 870, great stock mine does have an adjustable cheek weld and feels great when you have to keep that head down for a bit. you should not need a limbsaver pad added to it though as it handles recoil very well. only down side is it does add more weight than the OEM stock. The 6 po...

NEF 20 gauge single shot stock reviews?

My NEF Pardner barrel is at Mike Orlen's getting RemChoke installed. I'd like to invest in stock options, since I want this to be really light and compact. :D I plan on putting a Limbsaver recoil pad on whichever one I choose. I'd like to hear any opinions or reviews from anyone who has had experien...

When do the signups/etc happen for the contests? I'm in PA, which has a later season (April 30 start). By the time I think about coming back to this forum each spring from my other interests, the teams have long been picked.

Thinking that I might give it a try next year.

Is that the stepped rings you can see when you look from the barrel end of the choke?
