Re: Convention Roll Call

I'm trying to keep several traditional streaks intact: Never been to the Kentucky Derby, Masters, GA/FL game, or any gathering that has to be held in a convention center. Two is company, three is a crowd. ;)

Re: Sumtoy Question?

Ronnie, William will make it right and do what it takes to please you. I've heard this over and over the years and have first hand experience. I had William make a choke for a buddy's Yildiz .410 that wouldn't pattern well enough with the factory choke. He sleeved it to the barrel. When we shot it, ...

Got the kids coming in tonight from parts distant. For tonight, I cut up a couple of geese, made a roux, and am slow cooking the geese with onions, celery, green peppers and seasonings. It'll be ready by supper to be served on rice. Tomorrow, dove, pork tenderloins, sweet potatoes, squash, and colla...

Re: eotech or burris ff3?

I've purchased 4 for myself and friends. All have been 8 moa by choice. If a Burris 336 mount can be mounted on a cantilever arm, that's what I'd do. To keep a low profile I would avoid the Picatinny mount if possible. Otherwise you would have to use a neoprene sleeve comb raising kit which is not t...

A rough and tumble Mig 15 wouldn't be too bad. At one time they could be bought cheaply. A local has a hangerful of M51's including a two seater trainer.

Re: new or used burris fastifre 2 or one

Spur, I have click dyslexia when it comes to relying on calculating clicks. Invariably, I turn them the wrong direction. After zeroing a lead shell at 20 yards, I set up at 40. First shot is at target center marked by a black dot. I lock the gun into a workmate (don't have a lead sled which would be...

Re: new or used burris fastifre 2 or one

Check ebay. I see a few there. Prices have really dropped on the 3. Seeing them on ebay under $210 with free shipping. Main advantage (for me) of 3 over 2 is battery removal can be done without taking the red dot off the mount. Gil

Re: eotech or burris ff3?

The size of the eotech isnt a problem? From the ones ive seen they seem to be real big. This is just a matter of personal prefrence. For years, I shot an SBE with an Aimpoint. Two of my guns have Trijicon Reflexes. Both the Aimpoint and Trijicon Reflexes are larger than the Eotech. On my .410 and 2...

Re: eotech or burris ff3?

If you are going to take the cost out of consideration, I'd substitute the Trijicon RMR for both. I like the size of the FF3 for my use; no question the Eotec is a tougher red dot, higher quality, etc. The RMR is not much bigger than the FF3, powered by fiber optics and a tritium lamp--no batteries....

Re: Anyone apply for a quota hunt?

[quote="timbrhuntr". Arizona and others require you buy a hunting license and all the stamps to simply apply for a quota permit. A bull elk tag may take 6-8 years to draw and in order to get one you'll pay for an out of State license for those 8 years. At $200 or more a year in some State...
