I use my slate pot for such things. But I wouldn't hesitate to get one from Lonnie Sneed. Its a good solid little call. I have one because Lonnie told me I needed it. LOL!

Re: Turkey Hunting With A Handgun
Dick Kirby did a grand slam with a pistol. If I remember right, he did it all with a 44 mag and killed his eastern in WV. I have / had the old vhs tape around somewhere. I am in WV and know of a couple killed with pistols. Primarily with 22 mag / 223 or such in a contender type setup. LONG barrels a...

Re: Tacoma
If you guys are seriously looking for better mpg there is alot of online info to figure it out. Toyotas are / were strange beasts. Even in the same model year and configuration there can be some variability in transmission, rear end gearing ect. If you look at your door sticker it will provide codes...

Re: Tacoma
Cant go wrong with that Mr. Hoo! NICE! I have had several over the years. A 93', 94' and currently driving a 2003 (found it with 53K real miles on it). Great trucks. I did a bilstein suspension leveling on them and got 2" of lift. More than enuff for me and the size tires I needed. I can run 26...

Re: Built me a huntin house on my land.
The 1/2" foil covered 4 X 8 polystyrene sheets were about $10 each at my local Lowes recently. I put them in an old workshop and they helped alot. If you add an airspace behind them it increases the R value a good bit. Info is all on the sheet. Other than free its about the lowest cost insulati...

Re: What's a good gun? Budget friendly.
You have been provided some excellent options. I will mention the Mossberg 500 again in the Bantam configuration. Comes with stock spacers to increase LOP as they grow. I bought one years ago, set it up with red dot and it was my go to for so many different youngsters I lost count. Also great for my...

Re: Favorite books
There are some good ones out there already mentioned. A couple of overlooked good reads about people and stories in turkey hunting are Frank Hannenkerat "Education of a Turkey Hunter" and Chip Gross "Home at last is the Hunter. Its also interesting to me to read some of the old how to...

Re: WTB: Guesswho's Shrunkin' Peanut Butter n' Jelly Stained Shirt
The American pickers guys say sometimes you find something you have never seen before, and you KNOW you'll never seen it again. And that case, buy it no matter the cost. T-shirt sounds pretty darn valuable to me.

I used an old folding camp chair bag I had for carrrying the gobbler lounger / walmart version. It was dark green and just stuffed under chair or scattered some random leaves on it if needed when setting up. Worked pretty well.

Re: Cycling vs Running (legs, biking, tendonitis, routine)
I have been on an extensive program of non-running for years and my hips still hurt. BUT my doctor tells me that the cardio is the key and that can be done with brisk walking, no running or pounding of the joints needed.

Re: Sxs or o/u
I have always liked the traditional look and feel of the SXS. But I seem to shoot better with the single barrel view or stack barrels of the OU. Absolutely agree with Dkrvr about double triggers. You have to adapt and train yourself to a single select trigger and until it becomes automatic it can be...
