Re: Flying w/shotgun
What Joey said. Call the airlines you be flying on and get their guidelines in advance. In writing if possible. Its always the little things. Some airlines require ammo to be IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX, stuff like that if your into TSS. Get there plenty early to get thru the check procedures. Use your gun ...

Re: Meat grinder
What ever the brand look for 1hp or about 13 amps. That will tear thru the tuffer cuts. 1 or 2 deer a year speed should not be a problem. I have used several over the years and all did well as long as the motor was strong enuff. Look for one that grinder portion detaches for easy cleanup. Try to get...

BarBQ chips work well for the coating. I have used it on fish and turkey. We have a brand here called UTZ. They make some killer honey BarBQ chips. My favorite for coating.

Showing unusual patience is a winning predatory trait. Plus waiting till they are really REALLY close is another predator trick. Waste no energy!

Re: UltraDot tube-style red dot sight?
I used one on an 835 for a long time. Always held up and did well. No issues with recoil. In fact, its still on the gun in working condition, I just retired the whole rig. I went to a reflex (FF3, Venom) type simply for a greater field of view. They do make a great pistol site as well.

Re: 4-play turkey call
Be an interesting call to add to a collection as an interesting oddity. 20 years from now might have something. Without some gauged stops or pre sets it seems to challenge the idea of a call thats hand tuned to the "sweet spot".

Re: 28 Ga Tristar G2 Viper Rail Mount
I bought the Tristar upland hunter O/U. Looked at the meadow creek mounts but decided to just drill and tap THE VENT RIB. Of course no receiver on an O/U. Either is easy to do and works great for red dot type sights.

Beautiful birds! We have a few around. I took this pic using my cell phone held against a pair of Vortex binocs. Got lucky! I have tried several attempts since but not anywhere close to this result.

Re: Just for the Halibut!!
I have tried several grill baskets for fish and some veggies over the years and never found one that worked just the way I wanted it to. Closes thing I've found these days are the grill mats. Keep everything from falling thru and reasonably intact. And allow for flipping as well. That or just plop t...

Re: Finally got the 20 like I want it
I have two 20 ga guns with 18.5" barrels. An HR single shot and PA 459 tactical. Both set up to turkey hunt. The HR is set up with a pure gold .570 and shooting HW #7 because it shoots them really well and I have alot of them. PA 459 is shooting a carlson in .555 or .565 (have both) and TSS #9....

Re: Jake with a eight inch beard ?
If he acts like a big bird ….. he dies like a big bird. Really, with a full fan and decent beard how can you tell otherwise. Spurs are the true indication of age but with most you don't know for sure till you roll them over! I would be glad to have him!
