Re: Long Beard haters and why???

LOL I like shooting a 16ga with TSS. I really can't get a factory turkey load that will come close to the TSS loads. Im forced to suffer shooting TSS, no winchester longbeards, no hevi-shot just lead.
Im getting the vibe there may not be long beard haters here but there may be some TSS haters. :stir:

Re: % of Gobblers that rarely gobble

I think pressure has a lot to do with the gobbling also. I hunted a place in the 80s that you heard one gobbler or none gobbling from the roost. I hunted the area because the mailman told me he saw them in the fields later in the day. Two different mornings that season a light rain moved in and 20 m...

Re: My 4 Buddies!

Never made a sound. 1 did puff up about 3/4 of the way when I called to them. And don't worry , back where my land is if they start gobbling they are fair game to the locals! If 1 of them survives till the season opens it will be a miracle! Sounds like Berkeley County! They hammer em here before the...

NY Contest Hunt

I want to thanks Tonia and Yancy for a wonderful trip to New York. My son Caleb and I had a great time and came close to killing birds a couple of times. We learned a lot and Caleb got to see and hear several gobblers strutting with hens. He got that pounding heart in his throat a couple times but t...

Re: 16 ga TSS #9 load

I only shot one with 9s. I robbed a 12 ga shell for them. I remember my 1100 seeming to pattern a little better with 9s so I wanted to try them in my 870. Ill shoot several when I get some more 9s, I have some more coming. The 9.5s average about 325 in the 10" and 220 in the 20". It was a ...

16 ga TSS #9 load

I shot #9.5s last week and this week tried #9s and there was only 1 pellet difference in numbers. Go figure, seems the 9s pattern better. I was even off on my 10" ring a little when I counted.

Re: What shell did you use for your best Gobbler?

Remington 3" #2s out of a Sears & Roebuck single barrel. Mid 1980s gobbler was roosted on a ridge with 3 others. I tree called and he came down in the dark. I didnt see him till he was 8yards. Looked like a white light bulb bouncing in the dark. 12.5" and 10" double beard. I've ne...

Re: Band of Misfits...

Thats an awful skinny group of turkey chasers. Do you all ever kill anything? Most turkey hunters here in WV are fats and sassy. We just sit and call em in you guys must really chase em! Looks like one of them wish you were here post cards.
