Re: Tss shot trap
William Lambert's (Sumtoy) is a wooden frame in the ground with two layers of rubber backed short nap carpeting with a tin backing. A trough of wood sits underneath the mats and tin.

Re: Albert Paul....Holly/Holly
I had a Henry Davis edition by Albert Paul. It was a good, short box. I lost it several seasons ago while struggling through a ti ti/cat brier hell hole going to a bird. The bird and box are still there.

Re: Youth recommendation
Doc, you are a lucky dad. My girl gave it up after a couple of years of tagging along when she was a wee tyke. Felt recoil is a function of gun weight, velocity and weight of payload. The big factor here is fitting a gun to a 48 lb. girl. I would be surprised if the gun that is made to fit her now a...

Re: Youth recommendation
It is true that the 28 is a versatile gauge, but it isn't inexpensive to shoot in the field at upland, doves or ducks. Unless one handloads for the 28, it is the most expensive gun from the standpoint of factory ammo to shoot. With rebates on AA's, it's still over $10-11 a box. Without, $12-13 for l...

Re: Youth recommendation
Consider the 20 gauge Super Bantam Mossberg. It comes camoed, drilled and tapped with a youth stock that can be increased in LOP or reduced with removable inserts. A certificate enclosed allows purchase of an adult stock at discount. Weight is 5.25 lbs. I had one as my main gun for several seasons. ...

Re: feet, knees and butts
Years ago an old turkey hunter who terrorized the turkeys in the low country preferred hunting while standing. He felt that he could see them better over the gall berry bushes and palmetto stands. He would lean his non-shooting shoulder against the tree and hold his gun barrel down resting on someth...

Re: feet, knees and butts
I know a guy who has what I would describe as a camo innertube thingamabob. He loves it. Still makes me chuckle everytime I see it. Myself, I've got one of the Hunt Comfort smaller seat cushions. Fits in my vest and waterproof bottom. I used to carry a self-inflating small cushion. It didn't like t...

Re: feet, knees and butts
I hunt vestless as well, but I have a small closed foam pad from Bass Pro that clips to a large carabiner to my belt. I have stood and kneeled. The most miserable position is prone. I won't do that again.

Re: Yildiz TK12
As a further postscript, that gun is lighter than most 20 gauge single shots that I've owned or handled. My Beretta 20 gauge folder is about the same weight at 4 lbs., 13 oz. and the Savage 220 in 20 gauge is a few ounces heavier. This design is simple and the trigger work is easy to do. I see a big...

Re: Yildiz TK12
I can see shooting equivalent 20 gauge loads not exceeding 1.25 to 1.5 oz. Anything much heavier would be heart-stopping. 3.5"? No way.
PS, specs say 3". Gil

Pete, nice looking job getting rid of the black chromed finish. What led you to decide on where you placed FF3? Are both barrels hitting close to same POA? Gil

Re: Packers.
I had no dog in the fight, so it was no big deal one way or the other to me. However, I was hoping that the Pack would get a dose of bad weather giving them trouble just as Lambeau wx has given the rest of the league trouble over the years. The weather was not an issue. How can a team have 5 turnove...

Re: NITRO CO. no powder to load
Maybe the powder company has been calling them for a year and they never answered LOL!!!!!!!!!! I called and left a message last year about some 10 gauge shells and they called me back 6 months later! TRUE STORY! I would think that if you are in business to sell 25 shells for $185.00 plus shipping ...

Re: 20 Gauge Semi Suggestions
One auto that intrigues me and is the lightest is the Franchi AL48. These guns function like the old Browning A5 and are light and reliable. Won't be as soft shooting as a gas operated, but who feels recoil when shooting a turkey? Range of weight is 5.4-5.6 lbs as advertised. Franchi has been making...

Re: 3 MOA vs. 8 MOA
If you want a bigger dot with the 3, just turn it up more, right? Brighter, not bigger. I've bought 4 FF3's 8 MOA. I have two Trijicon Reflexes at 6.5 MOA. I've had an Aimpoint, 1 MOA. I like the bigger dot. An 8 MOA theoretically covers 3.2" disc at 40 yards. If the dot obscures the head, the...
