davisd9, Donald Davis, is present and ready to hunt the state of SC. Hunt mostly the midlands and upstate, but hope to kill a lowcountry bird and a bird in the mountains.

Hey guys. Excited to be on a team with you all. Going to be a great spring. Guess we need to decide on a team name.
I am hunting SC and got my 5 tags in the mail on Saturday. Ready to get this spring rolling!

Re: XT TURKEY CALLS
Steve is switching over to softer tape on all his calls. Has to do with supplier quality. I really like the stiff tape myself. I did not know he was doing that. I like the stiff tape as well. I just go ahead and stick the call in my mouth before I leave the truck and by the time I am ready to start...

Re: XT TURKEY CALLS
The havoc is my favorite mouth call. It is pure turkey with some rasp. The tape on the xt takes some getting used to, but I love them. Steve is a guy that will look after you!

Re: Seriously
I am a firm believer that each year, in regards to harvest numbers, 20 percent of the turkey hunters kill 80 percent of the gobblers. The other 80 percent of the hunters are the ones buying into that kind of crap, and we all know that there is plenty of crap out there for hunters to buy. I agree......

Re: Anyone shoot a Tom over 30#s?
My personal best was 22.5 killed in SC. I have seen several over 25lbs hunting out of state with one being 28lb. Another 26. These were killed in Eastern Kentucky and western WV up in the mountains. That 28 pound bird had a fan that was huge too. I bet it was 4 feet wide. This a great bird for SC. ...

Re: Anyone shoot a Tom over 30#s?
If you kill on over 20# here you are doing good. 17 - 20 is that average range I would say. The biggest I have heard of around SC is 24#.

Caught my 11-87 20 ga for $450 after rebate and promotion. Do not over look the Weatherby. That was the gun I was looking for until I ran into the 11-87 deal.
