Re: Mossberg SA-20 Tactical Turkey
I like mine. But 60+? That is a stretch to reliably do with a 20 amd TSS imo.

Not the smallest turkey gun. Saw a guy on YouTube reap one and shoot it with a Taurus Judge.

That pattern ought to kill all the way out to 42 steps.

Re: Woodhaven Calls
I will say their customer service is good. Bought a crystal call because firedup had one that sounded fantastic. Mine went flat after a few months. Don’t know why. They said ship it back. Sent me a new one one the pro staffer handpicked and had Pentecost sign for me. But like others, I’ve moved from...

Re: Tacoma
Mine was an 06 TRD off road, no hood scoop. The hood scoop was the TRD Sport (I think). You are right. But in 2010 when I bought mine, the long bed was only available in the Sport, not the TRD Off Road, at least the 4WD verstion. Things change, I haven't kept up. But I will be in the market in a ye...

Re: Tacoma
Went fishing today and saw a Tacoma at the boat ramp like I didn’t know they made. TRD off road package, long wheelbase, no hood scoop. Not sure if 4WD or not, forgot to check. Didn’t know you could get the LWB without going sport package and hood scoop.

Re: Decoy or no decoy
I have some, but really prefer to not use any. They can be an annoyance, but they can sure work too. The vast majority of my birds have come with no decoys. Give it whirl without 'em for the first week, you can always change your mind. No judgement here.

Re: M.O. Mr. Fox Vest
Was reading about it, then un numbered vests are selling at $450. Would love to have one, but not willing to spend that much. Hard to imagine one worth $450. I'm guessing those don't come with the calls. I don't use the seat on my vest so it' really about weight, quiet material, vest straps and poc...

Re: SA 20 and 1187 price check
Nice gun that SA20 seems a little high Yeah I didn't know what they went for. I just hadn't seen one before. It was a good feeling gun. I just sighted my SA 20 in yesterday. Very light and a nice shooter. It points very naturally for me and I love the compact feel of it. It patterns great with a Ca...

Guns.com has a regular stocked turkey SA 20 for $504. Gotta pay a little shipping and tax but still should come in under $600.

The Red Wasp sounds great but it is darn hard to play softly. It is stretched tight. Super realistic sounds, but loud.

Re: What's a good gun? Budget friendly.
You could go with single shots. The Stevens are pretty good I hear. Or Mossberg 500 or Remington 870’s are good pump guns at reasonable prices. Gun prices, like most things, have risen in recent years.

Re: Verifying Red Dot Year to Year
I sighted in and then took a few shots with some pheasant heavy 6's at 15 yards. The long range ones pattern fairly tight and are close to the turkey loads in velocity. Subsequent years I shoot a few Heavy 6's to make sure I'm hitting to same point as last year. I will shoot one final TSS at 40 each...
