Re: Longbeards....wow !
They are very good, but it seems like every time I comment on them. Others try and shoot them down. When I first got them, I patterned them at 40 and was pretty excited with my results. I then started moving the target out and ended up at 60, before my pattern started to go away. I have killed 9 bir...

Spring Rio Hunt
I have pretty much locked down my Merriams hunt for next spring. Since I'm that close, I may add a Rio hunt to the trip and was wondering what state would be better. NE Colorado or NW Kansas
Also if anyone knows of some good public or open ground and could share some info would be great.

Re: evolution of a fall turkey hunter
Thank goodness for Pennsylvania fall turkey hunting! Trust me, it's not the game commission I'm thanking. They are bound and determined to screw it up also with those d__n Fishers they put out. These things are like cats" Thrill killers" They are climbing up into the roosts and killing the...

Re: As a matter of fact, DOC!
Doc, all joking aside. Any material item is only worth something to me if I like it. If I don't like it, she gone. If I do, I tend to hang on to it. I can see myself sitting in a rocker on the porch, drinking iced tea and rereading your book over and over. It may take me a little longer with all tho...

Re: As a matter of fact, DOC!
I always read the Posts, but it is extra special when I get to bust Docs stones. The funny thing is with" Tenth Legion" is that when I was younger, I lived in Ms. for awhile and got to live that book out and I find myself day dreaming when I read it. In my opinion that book is only worth s...

As a matter of fact, DOC!
A few weeks ago someone made a post "Beards and Spurs" Doc, showed us some of his stash and then everyone started busting his stones. I made the comment. Hookspur, when are you going to show us the rest of your beards? I see you just showed us the ones in your bathroom, I take it. I just a...

Re: SAUSAGE, RED BEANS, RICE, CABBAGE
I lived in Mississippi for a while in my younger days. Never cared for red beans and rice, but I would definitely give this a try.
You had me at cabbage. Cabbage is to a Yankee, as what red beans and rice are to a southerner.

Have you ever cooked one up? They eat grass and may walk 10 yards from the hole! We sear them in a cast iron skillet with flour, they finish them in a brown gravy of our own. We do the same with rabbits.. Bake some homemade bread, open a cold one and sit on the porch and while your eating you tend t...
