Re: Jaybird?????
Sorry to hear that Jay ! I figured if it was just a money issue maybe we could get a few guys to chip in to offset some expenses but if you cant do it physically or cant leave the wife at home alone thats a different story. I really appreciate you guys trying to help me out. Money is a big issue on...

Re: Jaybird?????
You guys are great, but the health issues in my house are a constant issue. My wife and myself take care of each other, so separated wouldn't work. None of our issues are going to go away, so it is what it is. Unless Marsha gets better in a hurry, probably going to have to get her to a doctor no lat...

My wife is a Facebook Queen. Just hitting like on everything she posts wears my typing finger out, so I don't post much.OLE RASPY wrote:Well if he can post on facebook he can post here to. This site is more manly.

Re: Jaybird?????
Jaybird, if ya ever get to Mont. I got a place where you only have to walk 100 feet from the vehicle and shoot a big ass Merriam Tom any morning of spring season. Over 300 birds on this ranch and only 4 turkey hunters last year. Honey hole for sure. I would be more than proud to take you out there....

Re: Jaybird?????
Well, thanks for asking buddy. Lately, been checking in more often to see if anyone is shooting Jake's, yet. After retiring from hunting for a couple of years now, I don't have any new stories to tell, so I don't post. Don't want to end up like my grandpa, who told the same stories over and over unt...

Re: Love my football
Very cool, Jay! He won't get to play much at LB, because the guy ahead of him is awesome, but just playing enough to earn a letter as a Freshman would make his dad and me very happy. Seeing him on television was really cool. Being all state got him offers from the smaller schools, but 5'11" 21...

Love my football
Good day. My Hawkeyes won, my grandsons high school team won, and today got to see my grandson play on ESPN3, where they won. He started on special teams, and played linebacker in the last quarter. No bad for a Freshman.

Missing missile in New York
The army lost a unarmed missile out of a helicopter, and would like it returned. So, any of you New York hunters keep an eye out, and they would like it back if found. Personally, I would dig a hole in my yard, and stick the nose in, so it is sticking up in the air, if I found it. I figure it wouldn...

Re: Anyone Ready For Football?
Well, Friday starts the high school football season, already. We start with the number 1 team in the state. We are rated 8, but lost 1/2 our team to graduation, so I think we could be a bit over rated.

Re: Some of Marsha' s outdoor projects.
Marsha and her ex owned a construction company, and she wanted no part of the office, and worked on the jobs. At the same time she had a house turning business separate from her husband. We did a total remodel of this house, and outside of the kitchen, we did it all, down to redoing all the wooden f...

Some of Marsha' s outdoor projects.
Marsha was very busy this Summer redoing the yard. I didn't help much, because she prefers to do it herself. Everything visible she designed and built, including the bench. She added all the shrubs, grasses, and flowers to blend it all together. The patio where the bench sits took her a long time be...

Re: I hate tree rats.
One morning I have a pretty long walk to make it to a roost area, and I end up in a large thorn patch, nd no time to back track, so I push thru it with numerous bleeding wounds by the time I arrive at my destination. Get set up quick, and realize I am too close to roost, but not much I can do with i...

I hate tree rats.
We have a neighbor's Cat, who constantly tries to sneak over to my yard to hunt, but never arrives without the announcement of chattering squirrels. I know how he feels, because I know I have had hunts screwed up, because of a chattering squirrel in the tree above me, chattering his head off on poin...

We canned another 15 jars of Salsa, and Marsha is done with that for the Summer. A lot of work, and shoots a 1/2 day to do. Next is canning jams; BlackBerry, Strawberry, and maybe Blueberry is the plan.

I had one of a Bigfoot killing a Deer by breaking its neck, and dragging it off, but I knew I would catch crap about it, so I deleted it. I don't hunt there anymore.

DANGGIT. Maybe next time. I'm sure she knows now. Oh yea, we covered it. Bobcat is tricky, and I know illegal to kill in Iowa, but not sure in other states. The very next day Marsha took down a Jake from Marsha' s corner, so she was happy. We spent a week in Kansas, and had a ball. We fou...

Turkey for dinner
Every time I think I have cooked up all my Wild Turkey, I find another bag in the freezer. This should be my very last batch, but I thought that 4 times before. So we cooked it up as usual in nuggets, after marinating in yogurt, and cooking in a Cajun beer batter. Awesome stuff!

Marsha's Coyote
My wife and myself are hunting in Kansas a few years ago on a large tract of Private for Turkey. I had put up some camo rolled out blind material on a corner next to woods facing grazing fields, and my wife sat there on a gobbler lounger. She loved the spot, because there was a over abundance of wil...
