Re: I'm moving into the world of the 20s.

If your 8 year old son is going to shoot the gun, TSS 9.5's with 420 per ounce might be an easier load on your son as far as recoil goes. The HW7 at 1.5 oz in the 3" shell has about a 100 fewer shot than the 1 oz TSS 9.5 load.

Re: new phone

Been using the Motorola Moto-x. Made in the USA. Motorola was sold off by Google recently to the Chinese. What sold me on the phone was battery life and Google friendly. Wish there was a waterproof Life Proof case. See where Samsung's Galaxy is now waterproof.

'69 Chevelle 396 SS and wife's Lexus 430SC. hoobilly, hope that's a kit car because if it was an original, and you sold it, you sold a multi-million dollar car on today's market..
I know a local who had an original 427 Cobra. Not many made.

Re: Meet Molly

One thing for certain is that the breeder who holds the litter together for 12 weeks isn't doing it to save money. :P On my present Brittany, Abby, I believe we got her at a couple of earlier than the breeder desired. It was fortunate that we did. A few weeks later, both females that were left with ...

Re: Meet Molly

Pete, My breeder, who also field trials and hunts his Brittanys, prefers 10-12 weeks keeping litter intact as opposed to the traditional 7 weeks. He says research indicates that the mom teaches the pups better socialization skills, getting along with other dogs and folks, the longer the litter stays...

Re: Drumming

During an insomnia bout early this morning, I was listening to the BBC this a.m. and they had on a woman who specialized in recording and studying elephant vocalizations in the low frequency range which is impossible for humans to hear. Apparently some folks can feel it in their chests. It's even lo...

Re: Meet Molly

Pete, great to have a new dog around. Get ready for the Big Chew. My 3 1/2 year old Brittany, Abby, will be joined by a half sister from a recent litter. Abby and Willa have the same pop. Willa is 7 weeks old but the breeder wants to keep the pups together for 12 weeks. Abby has barely grown out of ...

A buddy went to Central America with an outfitter. He got his bird and Montezuma's Revenge aka Turkey Trots at the same time. Don't drink the water, eat fruit or raw vegetables. You have been warned. None of the above is on my bucket list, Kemo Sabe. Speaking of bucket, he didn't make it to the buck...

Re: Project .410 Stage One Complete.

Red, I thought your little bolt action .410 threw a heckuva pattern. If you need to raise the comb to view the dot with your cheek resting on the stock, you can do it with pipe insulation split on it's axis and taped to the top of the comb. Or you can spend 20 bucks and get the neoprene job. Gil

Re: 20 ga recoil

Here's a recoil calculator: http://www.omahamarian.org/trap/shotshellenergy.html Comparing an 8 lb. gun versus a 6.5 lb. gun shooting 1.625 oz. yields 20 foot-pounds of recoil versus 24.7 foot-pounds of recoil. I'd rather carry the lighter gun with slightly more recoil. With a bird out front, I doub...
