Re: Oh Man that felt good after 2 years !
Thanks guys ! My buddy has access to a bunch of ground which makes it look easy even for me ! Nice when you hear a bird and know you can go after it. Also helps when nobody has hunted there for almost two years !!

He has been keeping a low profile and sticking close to home especially with his wife just getting over cancer ! Well he said his wife was feel...

Re: Sit here and shut up
I think it was Ray Eyes book I read thet if he was outfitting he would take his hunters and put them in pre scouted blind setups. That way they wouldn't be pressuring any turkeys and the birds would keep their regular patterns and not be bumped out. I felt the same way about pronghorn. I checked a f...

As far as the kayak fishing I second taking a rod last year before the pandemic I did some kayak fishing near the keys and it was a blast especially when a 10 foot shark swims past at a couple feet from you looking to steal your catch !!

Re: Osceola
Your a good man Hobbes !! I took my wife with me a few years ago to Montana on a pronghorn hunt. First day I got her to drop me off at the blind near a water hole so she could take the truck and sight see . A couple hours before dark I thought I heard a truck drive by close to the blind. At dark I e...

Congrats on your Montana season I hope to be able to join you out there again next year ! How did the boiling turn out ? I never seem to have good luck with boiling especially the small nasal bones. I started to do my skulls with the maceration process a few years ago. Takes a while longer but the e...

Re: 2020 in Montana
I usually grind my deer and haven't had a problem I was told pronghorn is different if you grind it and leave for a long period not sure why . I know some say don't grind with pork or it will go rancid sooner maybe same for pronghorn :dontknow: It does mean more work to make a few burgers for dinner...

Re: 2020 in Montana
Hey Hobbes I see you grind your antelope and then freeze it. How well does it stay ? I was told that I should leave the meat in large chunks and then just grind what I need as it will last longer in the freezer . Maybe your ground doesn't last like mine lol I still have several pieces from last year...

Re: What a shame
When I first hunted in Montana I had to travel 50 miles back and forth from where I was staying to where I was hunting. On the main hwy there was not one day that I did not see at least 2 or 3 dead mule deer or pronghorn and some real nice bucks too.
