Awesome looking gun! That BOYD forearm and stock is sharp! Just curious... how much weight does it add compared to composite/plastic?

Re: Carlson .555 for rem 870 21 inch barrel?
Been down that road. Go with the .575 nonported. .565 and .555 nonported choke patterns in a 21 inch barreled 870 20 gauge were blown pretty bad in my experience. .575 shot lights out. More than tight enough. That’s consistent with my observations of a .555 constriction as well, unless you’re shoot...

Out in the open pasture where they unroll the large round bales for the cattle, hay and grain both there is as many turkeys feeding as cattle. The ...

Re: Managing the turkeys on my new land
Not sure where you are in Central MS...I'm in North MS and my experience is that what you see now during deer season may or may not be indicative of the turkey population come springtime. They often have different ranges during breeding and laying time. Good luck and if if you need any help let me k...

My longest spurred bird came from SE Kansas with 1 9/16 spurs. A couple of my buddies have taken birds from the same area with 1.5 or better spurs. I’ve also taken a few birds with 1 3/8 spurs in N MS and KY.

That’s awesome. Looking forward to learning how you get 2 1/8 oz in a 20 ga load. Thanks for sharing.

If I had a deer like that to hunt I believe I would be in the stand all hours of the day. That's a monster!

That's cool! And that's a big reason I like to hunt....you never know what you will see. I saw an otter several years ago while turkey hunting. Odd thing is I was probably a quarter mile from the river when I saw it....really neat.

Google PATRIOT SEAR SPRING. I put one in my 870 and it made a big improvement. It's also inexpensive and easy to install.

I just finished fixing mine up from this past season. I pull the brass part of a 12 gauge shell and knock out the primer. I cut the spurs out and soak them in varnish, then run a strip of leather thru the hollow of the leg and run both ends into the primer hole. Then I hot glue the beard into the h...
