Re: Got to ask...

I don't shoot one for the same reason I don't hunt with change in my pocket. I can't stand something rattling while I'm walking and moving. :toothy7: Plus, I'm now a wimp that can't carry a big man's 12 gauge but they can kill them as well as the rest. :thumbleft:

Re: Rubber hunting boots

I have a pair of the Lacrosse Aerohead's. They fit me great and are extremely comfortable. Might be worth a look. Best I have worn. I've had to eat crow with these boots (spoke highly of them before). I'm now on my 2nd pair and they've too formed a leak where the armor flex neoprene and rubber meet...

Re: Turkey Hunting Seminar

Absolutely have at the videos! I was going to say alot of what is already said. Compare it to something they know or perhaps present it as a challenge. Guys like to be challenged at times. Tell it how it is. . . they are pursuing a bird with a walnut sized brain that has an incredible survival insti...

Easter Gobbler 2015

Here is my newest video for those who haven't found it elsewhere. It's interesting how this one came together. I unintentionally kept up with our decisions as we made our way through the morning. It came out a little different than my other stuff.

Re: I'm almost too embarassed to share this...

Guilty as charged.

Never been whooped by recoil like I was then. . . . never found the ramrod but it did make it threw the target downrange (50yards I believe). . . sideways according to the tear. I've never told anyone.

Re: Franchi choke

I shoot the Big20XL load with straight 9's through a Tru-Lock .585 with great results. It shoots in the 275/250 range with very even distribution. A friend of mine shoots the Big20XXL with 8's and he uses an Undertaker .582 non ported choke with about the same results. My exact setup and my exact r...

An Early Season Georgia Gobbler (video)

Here is an early season hunt where my South Florida buddy Marc takes his first Georgia gobbler and completes the 2nd leg of this 2015 single season slam.

Courtenay's First Gobbler

Check this one out from opening day 2015. It's a little dark and jerky because everything happened so quickly it hadn't had time to lighten up yet. But it's a good one. . .

Re: Cove's Spring 2015

Way to go, Dave! Once again a spring has finished without us sharing a campfire somewhere along the way, although we did hunt some of the same states and areas at different times. I sure would like to get that done next year! I am also so certain you will finish up your US Slam next spring that I w...

I would quit hunting and sell all my guns before it came before my wife and child. Everyone's priorities are different and I commend you for putting your wife/ child first. Some of us realized that would never be an option (by "that" I mean putting anything before turkey hunting) therefor...

Re: Cove's Spring 2015

I will be forever thankful for the Lords blessings on 2015. This season I was able to take a bird in 13 states, 11 of those being new ground. This brought my total to 41 states on this journey. It'll be a tall order but I'll attempt to finish the US slam next season. Looking forward to sharing the 2...

Re: Cove's Spring 2015

The final voyage of 2015 had us taking off for Minnesota. We started in a bind as our guns were a day late, the joys of airline travel. The weather was brutal in the beginning with rain and 30mph winds being the norm. It was the 3rd day when my buddy Kenny and I found ourselves in the mix as we call...

Re: Cove's Spring 2015

The next trip had buddy Marc and I lifting off on May 1st and the first sunrise was spent in Montana after a sleepless night. I was rewarded about 10:00am when we wrestled this beaut of a Merriam gobbler into range. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/Covehnter/Turkey%202015/Montana%20N%20Dakota%...
