It's called "When Is Turkey Season". It lists the different states and when you click on them, it gives the season dates and regs for that state. You guys may already know about it, but it was news to me, so I thought I'd post it. If I wasn't so technologically challenged, I'd post a link....

I have tried every known and some original methods to cook adult groundhogs and to make them palatable, to no avail. However, IMO a young groundhog is one of the finest eating wild creatures and a notch above rabbits. It may sound mercenary, but I avoid shooting the adults off of several known dens...

Congrats on the chuck George and I'm glad you didn't break your gun, or worse yet your neck, when you went down. Good to hear that you're seeing some birds, too. They should start filtering back up here on the mountain sometime within the next week or two if the weather holds.

I guess I don't know $hit about them either, I thought it was a smoke phase. In my own defense, I've lead a somewhat sheltered life up here on the mountain, lol.

You might as well wait til the dead cat decoys come out for next spring, redarrow. They shouldn't be too expensive and a lot less messy.

Do you guys find the smoke phase more prevalent in some areas than others? Like I mentioned above, I've been hunting turkeys for thirty five years and I've never seen one.

I have to agree with you. My Mom, Dad and my Grandfather too, were all big on taking pictures and I'm glad that they had the forethought to take them. I hope your mom and dad are doing well.
