Re: Long Beard haters and why???
Do people get the same sense of accomplishment as shooting one out of a blind or over a decoy versus without? Or shooting 2 birds at 20 one with tss and one with lead out of a 410? I don't know. Can't speak for other folks, and I try not to sit in blinds over decoys, not for me. But I do have a 410...

Re: Long Beard haters and why???
In some cases. 28 gauges built on true 28 gauge frames are smaller and lighter than a similar 20 built on its own frame. 28's on 20 gauge frames are a different story. The same can be said about the 410. The Yildiz single shot is certainly scaled down, weighing in at just over 3lbs. I can understan...

What tss loads are costing $10 a piece? If I shoot 7 turkeys I'm still not even close to what I spend on gas for 3 days of huntingappalachianassassin wrote:I cannot justify spending 5 times the amount of longbeardXR to have less floppy turkeys. lol.

Sight in off bench or from knee?
How do you guys do it? I use dove loads off a bench at 20 to get it close. Back up to 40 with my Turkey loads off a bench. When that's good I take a few from a regular knee resting position to satisfy my ocd. So far haven't noticed a poi difference but every year I have to do it or it's in the back ...

Re: Long Beard haters and why???
If I still carried my 12 all the time I would switch to longbeards. I killed to many with lead in it to hate it. I only switched to tss cause I've reloaded for everything else might as well do my Turkey loads as well. Tss is just supreme in the smaller gauges which are normally lighter/easier to tot...

This should be the first thing you buy for it especially if you're in the steep part of west va. Keeps the gun from coming out of battery and hearing a click instead of a boom on a birdK9Doc wrote:Get ya self a Wolf Spring!!!

I'm just shooting 2 or 3 this year to dial it in then going hunting. Might shoot my 12 once in case I need a back up.

Re: Long Spurs, are they rarer than we think?
I've seen over 100 birds die. Can count on one hand that were over 1 1/8. I think genetics is a big part as well as terrain to an extent I believe. We kill a lot of chipped/broken spurred Tom's in one particular area compared to others. Only difference is that area is super rocky. Rocks everywhere. ...
