Practically all our local politicians identify as conservative but they all act like socialists on the job. It is the norm these days.
Run for office if you can.

That is the sweetspot. That's why I started my boy started with a 6.5 Grendel. Same thing. You can add more powder in the Creedmoor in future, though. Can't with the Grendel. I had in mind that his first "real" deer rifle would be a bolt action .260 or 6.5CM. However he threw a wrench in t...

Re: Glock 20 - 10 mm
Not a lot of difference between .357 and hot 10mm. .44 mag is a pussycat in a full size heavy Ruger. Just gotta find your sweet spot for what you're willing to carry. I don't find an L frame or GP100 in .357 any more pleasant than .44 mag, but others do. I can't stand a K-frame .357 at all. Course b...

Re: Glock 20 - 10 mm
I hear they work if you learn how to use them. If you're not a handgun enthusiast you can shorten your learning curve by having a handgun that points naturally. I recommend trying different pistols to see if the sights are aligned where you point it. If it doesn't point naturally find something that...

Food from the field
Working on finishing up last season's sq. before it get freezer burnt. I prefer to cook it down in gravy after frying but the kids don't eat shrooms. I wasn't going to make bechamel sauce and gravy both. Oven roasted okra beats asparagus in my opinion. Which is good because planted a bunch! 07032019...

It looks like a particularly expensive portable grill. What is the attraction over, say, a Weber kettle?

Surprised by the pines nearby and disgusted by the proximity to the road. I have to hoof it and find very few with any pines nearby. Usually tiny goldens there, too.

Re: Slate Call Position—Juggling Shotgun
No point in calling when in sight. Can't see you move if not.
If you can't tell when they're coming that's not a calling issue.

Yep, Works great. I used to just ugly them to death, but over the years it got to where I tore them up too bad.
I used to tell it was my wife but she got to where she tore me up too bad.

Have one of theirs with the rows of shell beard holders. Good stuff. Next one will be from Bill Baublitt I think.

Re: new to turkey hunting
I'd like to help but I have to figure it out all over again every year. Recommend books by Kenny Morgan and recordings by Lovett Williams. The two most abused types of calls are box and mouth. It's easy to sound turkey-like on them and lazily wear the birds attention out with almost-accurate calling...

Re: Coronavirus aka Chinavirus
What I noticed about that area in SC first off is the high concentration of old folks homes; just like in Italy. Your numbers are going to be disproportionately high if you have a disproportionately high number of predisposed hosts. Unfortunately truth like math doesn't make sense to many people. Ju...
