Re: Roll Tide
Auburn is living on borrowed time. Where the luck string snaps is anyone's guess. Two miracle plays in a row are stretching the luck factor. The Bama field goal return was arguably better team play, but a huge luck factor was involved. Those kind of wins even out as time goes by and the other team e...

Nice bag of the best tasting of ducks.
I had a woodduck for supper last night. Nothing better.
Is the new load steel, Hevi-shot, etc? Gil

Kick's warns users not to use anything but lead in any of their chokes. They make a fine choke, however. Ported chokes strip wads from loads which is good with some loads; not so with other loads. Gil

Well, since Jaybird is stirring the pot about southern food, let's see what he says about collards. i just got back from a locally owned grocery store and up pulled this truck with a load of collards from Tattnall County. Tattnall County is the home of great turkey chokes (Sumtoy), Vidalia onions an...

Tommy, a buddy who owns an upscale restaurant buys his stone ground grits from a small water powered mill in TN. He uses his made from scratch vegetable broth and cream when he slow cooks them. Georgia Ice Cream. My wife makes a great shrimp and grits meal. Gil

Re: primos tightwad choke any good?
I don't know where Primos chokes are made. However, there are box store chokes made in China from inferior steel. William of Sumtoy uses the best steel available. There are a lot of fine chokes out there, but I look no further than Sumtoy for my guns. He will get it done for your gun...

Re: EPA's regs just shut down the last lead smelter in the U
Toasty, as long as it isn't a federal law, I think most of us in the South will be okay. Give me another 10-15 years and it won't make a difference to me. We have a wma that is a pretty fair snipe hunting area and lead is okay for snipe; dux, however, you know what must be used. Gil

Re: EPA's regs just shut down the last lead smelter in the U
I'd just as soon not have a lead smelting operation in my backyard. Could give me drain bamage. The Doe Run shut down is apparently old news. Hal's chart on lead mining explains why my Winchester 16 gauge game loads are made in Australia. I wonder what percentage of shot is made out of US mined lead...

Re: EPA's regs just shut down the last lead smelter in the U
I am curious to know whether or not the US imports more lead than it mines and smelts. In looking at the St. Louis Dispatch article, 145 employees at the plant will be laid off and 70+ contractors. How much lead could such a facility produce??? Doe Run made the decision to shut down in 2010. Another...

Here's a good program, 7 minutes, that doesn't require equipment other than a chair and a wall.
