Re: Retirement destination
I like the Western Kentucky idea as well. Weather would be good, not unbearable winters, still in a good location as far as travel goes, gulf coast beaches are doable. Although I'd like a few more tags the deer and turkey hunting is awesome, and you're still in the Miss-uh-sip flyway, get the best o...

Re: Photo Hosting Sites
I knew what you meant! My dad retired several years ago and went to live and work in Alaska for a season(6 months). Anyhow on their off days they'd fish when they could, and he smoked the meat and mailed a good bit back home to Alabama, he sent it to several family and friends including me, and it w...

Re: what part of your body
yes, I use to be able to hear it well. I had a similar experience you had with the 300 win mag. I bought a 30-378 wby mag with a muzzle break several years ago, I wish I had never seen the gun. first shot (no protection) felt like a screwdriver went in one ear and out the other. I still have and sh...

I'll be livid if I lose mine. Is it me or was that site super slow Yeah I will be too!! I've probably got about 15 years worth of pics on my account, majority of which are only saved there!! I started out using PB back when it was the premiere photo hosting site, so by the time others came around I...

Re: FALL TURKEY SEASONS FOR ALL 49 STATES....
Not too many moons ago there were several counties in Alabama that had a fall gobbler only season. Of course none of those counties were close to me so I didn't have the opportunity to grow up fall hunting. I enjoy hearing turkeys on those early fall mornings and you'll hear sounds that you didn't k...

My Hearing! In my late 30's and I wished I would have listened when others told me to protect my ears from all those years of shooting. I can hear and I still hear better than others but both ears constantly ring now, right worse than my left. I can hear a turkey drumming on the ground over 150 yar...

I hope the transition goes smoothly. The Mauler and I were gonna do the contest this next season, that is if he can stay sober and out of jail! I don't drink alcohol... so I can drive. I don't shoot mossbergs but I would prolly learn how to kill a turkey from the Mauler  We've got to make him ...

:toothy7: :LMAO: :violent3: :stir: Mouth call like Gobbler said. I saw a video a while back on how to do it, I was skeptical at first but after a few tries and about 10 minutes, I had it sounding pretty damn good. Plus using a mouth call eliminates one more thing to weigh your vest down with

Re: Scope mount for 1187 20ga
I second the tapping and drilling, that'd be my 1st choice. However I've used the B-Square saddle mounts on my Remington's before over the years, and never had an issue. The mount I had on my 12ga 870 would fit my 1100 20ga. Now that 1100 was a very older model so I'm not sure about newer Remington ...

Re: Avian X decoys
Well said JTown. However I want to clear something up, I don't consider myself a calling purist. I do love the vocal interaction between me and gobblers, but I don't rely strictly on my calling. A lot of it IMHO, is knowing turkeys and woodsmanship. Years ago I did rely mostly on my calling, and I f...

Re: Avian X decoys
I was just :stir: myself. I really don't care how someone hunts as long as its ethical and legal. I'm not going to preach my beliefs and feelings on anyone. I've used decoys before, when they were first made legal in Alabama about 12 years ago. Honestly they hurt me more than they helped me and I de...

Re: Haymaker Choke Tube 20ga 870
Yes D-n-D teamed up with Indian Creek on the haymaker chokes. I saw the choke on the shelf and picked it up thinking "Indian creek changed their packaging", and then I saw the D-n-D logo and it confused me because it looked just like the IC. I've shot the feds through my SBE 2 with the IC ...
