Re: Cove's Spring 2015
My second out of state run was to new ground, something I really enjoy. The first stop was visiting North Carolina, home of a good friend of mine Eric. He pointed me in the right direction on some state game lands for the opening day. I don't think even he realized how 'right' the direction he point...

Re: Cove's Spring 2015
I returned to Georgia for the youth season and was able to show my 7 year old nephew a fun Sunday hunt. We were in the action but believe we may need another year or so before it's "time" to seal the deal. As a whole, the Georgia season was very productive. There seemed to be fewer 2 year ...

Cove's Spring 2015
Somehow I skipped over the GN nation when I was pasting this everywhere a couple days ago! I'll move it over for those that haven't seen it already. I know some of y'all are not welcome anywhere else.   For me, it's impossible to put into words the importance of turkey huntin...

Re: michigan
So, a 234 hunt license is not valid for public lands in the ZF or any unit starting with a Z? Am I understanding this correctly? I've read it 20 times but I'm still confused since the ZF, ZE, etc all seem to be included in the ZZ unit. . . .

I may attempt to swing a Michigan visit next week as well, all depends on how Minnesota and Wisconsin treats me. '

I believe I have shared a Georgia pine tree with this fellow before if memory serves me right. Ended with boom too. . . that was many years ago.

Re: The latest on Doc's situation
Thanks Doc and hope to see you in Nashville, sadly enough I'm hearts already in the south Florida swamps. I can't get any calling done for staring at maps I already know.

Re: The latest on Doc's situation
Hate to hear this Doc! I'm confident you'll have a speedy recovery and continue to be a nightmare for longbeards. I know it makes you cringe when something happens right before the spring kickoff. Good Luck my friend!

Re: NE Washington
I've heard great things about the area but haven't made my way out there quite yet. I'll be close this season I believe but not certain I'll make it. Absolutely in my future though. Some of the pictures I've seen of the terrain looks awesome.

Re: Oregon
I did hunt Oregon last year but it was for Merriams. I flew into Oregon and it was raining. Drove to California hunted there and Nevada before returning to Oregon. When I made it back. . . . it was raining. I drove up to the hunting grounds and the rain turned to snow. Snow is pretty. And that's abo...

Thanks guys! Think I'll just order a recoil pad and see what kind of numbers it puts up before I do anything of the sort.

Lengthing forcing cones?
Is it worth it? I have a new Franchi Affinity 20 gauge (currently receiving a bottomland bath) and would consider having the cones lengthened if it's beneficial. From searching I see that it helps with recoil which interests me since I'll be putting my pip squeak of a nephew behind it at times but w...

Youth Opener 2014
Just finished this one up... or I was tired of messing with it at least. There was over an hour of footage from this hunt (mostly great audio) and I attempted to crunch it down to tell the story yet not take all day. This was last year's youth opener in Georgia. We were dealing with a pile of hens a...

Wait... . . that grey hen thing is real? I had to google it to prove to myself. I let a couple hen squealers slide in the past but if I see a bozo with a white decoy I may have to bring his ignorance to the light.
