Re: Getting equipment ready

I had a couple straps with padded shoulders from camo backpacks I don't use anymore. I modified them and then attached them to the lounger after taking the old one off. I just sling it over my shoulder and away I go. I like it over my shoulder and not in a sack etc. If I need to move I just quickly ...

Congrats. Be pretty tough to upgrade that one. What size shot load did you use on it ?

I got one of those too but didn't post it. I didn't know that jakes were going to score that high in this contest when I shot it :dontknow:

On the other side it made good jerky to snack on if it lasts.

Yup. I used to buy them for my daughters when they were little. When I went moose hunting I would get one for each and they would hang them over their beds to catch their nightmares. I think its better when they are given as a gift though. Forgot to add I never seen one like that though, pretty uniq...

Re: Serious Decoy Question?

Not funny just normal turkey male behaviour. I don't think it has anything to do with decoys either. In the spring I have seen them being funny and when they finally stood up there was nothing there but dirt under them. Sometimes if they come in with 2 and I shoot one his buddy will be funny with th...

Not sure about them being wiped out but a place I hunt is an island and turkeys were reintroduced there about 10 years ago. They were released in 2 spots and roosted close to where they were released. The 2 spots were picked by biologists before they were released I can only assume because they felt...

Re: Contest

Not giving full credit for a multi-beard but giving full credit for a 29 lb. bird or a bird with 1 5/8 inch spurs seems sort of biassed to me. It seems like every region has some sort of advantage whether it be weight (midwest), spur length (Florida), or multibeards (anywhere). The only way I see t...
