Re: New furniture to the 870 28ga
That's a complete opposite answer I got from Briley when I called them the other day. Seems some knows that it can be done and some are in the dark. Got in touch with Indian Creek and they said they want my barrel and they can make some 28 gauge remchokes. I think this is the direction I'm going. Sh...

Re: New furniture to the 870 28ga
Can't promise you anything, but I'm sure gonna try! Maybe the guys that want them need to call and show them that there is a demand for them. Might make them more willing to go to try and make a run of them.

Re: Laminate stock color? Wanting opinions
Coffee still my favorite. Think the grey would be #2 now I'm right there with you man! Exactly my thoughts. I ordered the coffee already. They don't have any bone grey in stock without an aluminum bedding block, and don't know when they will get anymore. I'm not sold on the aluminum bedding block o...

Re: New furniture to the 870 28ga
I called Briley and they said that Mobil would be a no go. Said they would only do thin wall chokes. I'm gonna talk to Mike and Stuart at Indian Creek and try to get them to make a run of 28 gauge remchokes. I already have a wingmaster barrel threaded for 28 gauge remchokes. Just hope I can get Indi...

Re: Laminate stock color? Wanting opinions
Ok guys, found one more color. The vendor doesn't have this color in stock.....but would it be worth the wait over the others? The coffee is definitely going to be one I pick, this bone gray doesn't look bad either. What you guys think on this gray versus the other more natural wood tones?

Re: Laminate stock color? Wanting opinions
Thank you for the opinion! I appreciate it. I am almost certain I'm getting the coffee color, the 2 I can't decide on for the other rifle is between the birch and the woodland laminates. Still trying to decide. Hoping this topic will help me make my decision.

Laminate stock color? Wanting opinions
Guys, While sitting here in the woods and it is a lull, I'm thinking about 2 deer rifles that I am going to build before this upcoming deer season. They are Remington 700 SPS versions, so they have matte black bluing and matte black bolt handles. They come in factory black synthetic stocks, but I am...

Killed a couple with it already. Been shooting a pure gold .525.. I thought you were running a .525 pure gold. I had them custom make them a few years back. How has that choke done for you? What load you shooting? Any pattern pics? If you don't want to post, please PM me Indian creek .520 shot the ...

Makes perfect sense. If it isn't too creepy, I can deal with it. If it is, I'm gonna find somebody who can fix it to some degree, if I can locate someone.

Re: Winchester SXP Longbeard-20 gauge opinions
I've hunted w/ the SXP Long Beard since they first came out. I utilize a Carlson's .585 and a Vortex Venom w/ TSS hand loads. I prefer a tight 10" core w/ an even 20", which the back bored barrel provides. It's a shame that Winchester has produced such a fine turkey gun with so many nice ...

Winchester SXP Longbeard-20 gauge opinions
Guys, Looking really really hard at a Winchester SXP Longbeard 20 gauge turkey model shotgun in full Mossy Oak Obsession. Want to know the good, the bad, and the ugly on them for the ones that have used them. Super nice looking rig, but have heard the triggers are the biggest downside. For those tha...

Re: Finished Another Little Thumper
They are great stocks in my experience. I have one on my 870 20 gauge and my 870 410. I have sets for my 28 gauge 870, and my 12 gauge 870, just haven't mounted those two yet. Different color laminate for each gauge. They are a little heavy, but I don't mind it when I'm shooting them. Lol. Weight he...

Yes. The 20 ga, 28 ga, and 410 bore all use the same buttstock. Same size receiver. The forends, however, are specific to each gauge.

Re: Hornady ML Bullets
I'm just like Icedturkes, Barnes in a muzzleloader in my opinion is where it is at. They sometimes do not shoot the absolute tightest group that you will possibly get out of of a frontstuffer, but their terminal performance is absolutely amazing. You will get a blood trail with these bullets. I real...

Gosey Locator calls! AMAZING!
Guys, If yall are looking for some serious good locator calls for next year, please take a look at Daryal Gosey and his crow calls and his new hawk screamer! Daryal made these 3 calls for me in the past two weeks. The crow calls are amazingly realistic, and loud to boot. Not to mention they look ama...

I shoot the same gun with apex TSS loads. I have 2 trulock chokes, .610 ported and extra full .630 non ported. The .610 ported did 285 in the 10" with #9's and 244 with #8s. The extra full .630 put up 246 in the 10" with #9's and 185 with the #8's. Mind you thats just one shot each with c...

16 gauge choke question
Okay guys, Just looking for opinions here. Nothing more. I am getting ready to put together my Remington 870 16 gauge 23" barreled TSS slinger here soon. Had the gun for a few years now, just haven't had the time to get it done. It is a factory threaded Remington 870 16, hard to find now. I am ...

Gotcha. I have run his teak green slate alot this year. Awesome call! And with Neal's snakewood, gabon ebony, and tulipwood strikers, I have 3 distinct sounds.

Re: Who are some of your favorite custom pot call makers?
Pot calls sound the same to me. Do they to you all? Threre are a lot of good ones. But, they sound like the same hen to me. Definitely not the same. There is definitely differences from call maker to call maker. And if you want a flock of hens, get you a good pot call and add about 8 different stri...
