NatchezSS has a 10% discount promo bringing the FFIII with AR mount down to about $135.

Re: Opinions on 3 MOA sights/ Vortex Venom vs Burris FF III
I stand corrected. It is listed for $149. Gil On further review, the offer is not available to residents of Georgia, Alabama or Tennessee according to the fine print in the ad. I spoke with someone at NSS and was told that the reason is because they are wholesale dealers in these states. THAT sucks!

FYI - I think NatchezSS has the FFIII with the AR mount on sale for $149, if that helps the decision process.

Get a Franchi 48AL. They're so light, they have to be tied down to keep from floating away.swampchicken wrote:Thank you for all that replied. Re: THE NEW TURKEY HUNTERS
Anybody else remember that story Gene Nunnery wrote about where the fellas would abandon their overalls and crawl backwards toward the turkey? Ha. I have killed some turkeys by calling and then sprinting up another forty yards. That put them hung up at about thirty yards instead of the seventy they...

Re: THE NEW TURKEY HUNTERS
I've busted up flocks in the fall by running right at them, because I don't have a turkey dog. A lot of the time, I can cover about 10 or 20 yards before the birds panic and run.

Re: Gobblers on the limb
I just match whatever the hens are doing. If they're silent, I'm silent (up to a point...I like to tree yelp and I cannot lie). If they're crankin', crankin'. Most of the farms I hunt are too small and open to reposition after flydown while the birds are still on the property, so sometimes I win, so...

Re: Gunsmith adding a cantilever mount to barrel
Here is my ff2 on my 410. Remember, there is no need to have it way back near your eye... these things were designed to be used on pistols held out at arms length anyway. I like it better mounted this way and seems much more secure than with the long cantilever extension. 20170521_214415.jpg Sent f...

10-15 yard patterns are going to be tight out of almost any gun and load. Just test it at that distance to see how your point of aim and point of impact match up. As long as you don't flinch, you should only have to do it once. ;) Back when I was shooting an 835 with 3.5" roman candles, I tried...

Yep, that seems to be happening a couple weeks early for the birds I'm hunting, too. The sweet spot was definitely a couple weeks ago.
