Re: Getting soft

That is a terrible title with all the long-in-the-tooth hunters on here. Truly hurtful.

crow wrote: May 19th, 2019, 9:55 pm I was wondering if anyone has ever tried one of those little 8" hand wand metal detectors, if they are sensitive enough to detect a #9 pellet.
I actually asked about that on a metal detecting forum and folks seemed to think that a pinpointer wouldn't pick up the small shot.

Re: New regulations for SC

Historically, I think you would be right. Early in the seasons dominant birds often have large harems of hens and therefore gobble little after flydown and are essentially uncallable. They account for a big part of the breeding, so turkeys had a built in protection against this early overharvest of...

Re: snake bites anyone?

I got bit by a 18" Copperhead on the heel of my right hand when I was 19 yrs old. (Yes, I was playing with it) I immediately sucked the bite and then soaked it in diesel fuel. I worked on a farm and the diesel was handy and seemed like a good idea at the time. It hurt like hell for several days...

I had someone cut 2 of the 35" tires on my truck. I was about 8 miles from the highway on public land. Cost me about $1000 and my truck had to stay out there for a week. Who has 2 35" spares?? Had the same thing happen to me in Alabama and Kansas ! Now I carry a spare game cam and set it ...

Re: Wish I hadn't!

I ain't out there trying to manage turkeys, but if I knew one didn't have decent spurs, I wouldn't hunt him. That's why I've never run any game cameras. I love the surprise of rolling a turkey over to see what he's toting. I like spurs, so I wouldn't go after that one. That's just me.
