Re: Best advise

I started turkey hunting hard about 20 years ago.......buddy of mine took me and we got on some turkeys mid-morning and called up two together and I killed one of them....didn't take ten minutes from the time we got on them. Went back again and he called up another turkey that I got nervous and shot...

Re: SEC dominance

He didn't play all that well saturday, but I still think Denard is a legitimate player. He's tough and he never stopped competing. There's something about taking a guy that likes to ad lib and make plays with his feet and making him stay in the pocket that really messes with his head. I've heard Ark...

Week 2 Discussion

Auburn at MSU will be ugly to watch, but it will probably come down to the last play of the game just like it does pretty much every year.

Barrel length

I guess I've always just had good luck with short barrels. Best thing about these days is that you can read on the Internet about everybody else's research for free and then go buy the combo that works best for them and it usually works just as good for you. I knew when I bought that 870 compact tha...

Re: SEC dominance

sorry wiltznucs, but a one loss SEC ain't going if somebody else in any major conference other than the Big East is undefeated; and really that precedent has never been set.....sure one loss SEC teams have been but they have never been and left an undefeated major conference champion at home. It wil...

SEC dominance

How has that precedent been set its never happened before. SEC one loss teams have never gotten in the championship game over an undefeated BCS conference team. It won't ever happen either

Re: SEC dominance

Could happen this year that the SEC gets left out if FSU runs their joke of a creampuff schedule............A one loss SEC team can't get in in front of them and if any 2 team combo of FSU/USC/Oregon/Oklahoma goes undefeated the SEC will get left out unless one of them runs the table.

Very high pressure below normal temp mornings are the best gobbling conditions there are in my opinion.

Re: Barrel length

21" barrel on my 20 gauge with a flush fit choke. Every inch you can save in the woods makes it that much easier to get around...........especially after green up. I've ran a turkey off 2 different times trying to negotiate a vine in front of me and get my 28" barrel with extended turkey choke eased...

Any waterfowlers in here?

I like shooting those blacks in the timber. When they decide they want in a place they're coming and there really isn't much you can do to stop them
We can only shoot one a day here though, so you have to be careful at first light when they're coming in mixed with mallards

Re: What is the next old school?

Here's the whole deal with this "old school" thing.............When a guy starts out turkey hunting, most of the time he's basically clueless. He will buy anything he can afford to help him kill a turkey, no matter how ridiculous it may seem to people who actually know how to kill turkeys, because h...

Chestnut oak is first here, then the red oak subspecies with the larger acorns, then white oak/post oak and finally the red oaks with smaller acorns.

Last I heard Toussaint was not yet suspended.............has there been an update? If he's not suspended by now he probably won't be. I was kinda surprised to hear he wasn't.
Even if he plays, it's hard for me to see a scenario where Michigan would be likeley to beat Alabama.

SEC/BIG TEN/BIG 12/PAC10

If I'm not mistaken, USC already has 2 DL and a linebacker injured....... They don't have a lot of depth, so they could run into big problems if they're unlucky with injuries That being said, I would think that the championship game would pair the SEC champ vs USC/Oregon most likely with a chance fo...

CAMOS-Fashion statement or effective

If you can't sit still it don't matter what you wear, but if I'm fooling with a turkey I'm sitting against the base of a tree 99% of the time. It just seems logical to me that I need to look as much like bark as possible. I wore bottomland when it came out and loved it, then they quit making it and ...
