Re: wanting to set up a 20ga Benelli m2 for TSS

Jmck, I will second what these guys have said. Tss options are wide ooen these days are far as suppliers and guys that can get you going. No worries there. I shoot a .555 Indian Creek with a 2.75" 1 7/16oz load from Hawglips. There are also some good 1 5/8oz loads out there thAt will give you bigger...

Re: 20 ga. 1-5/8 TSS vs. Same in 12 ga.

I would say you are right on all accounts. You would have more room to speed up the load and still be in safe pressures.
I don't know the shot strings would compare.

It may work, but may be to tight if a choke. I would find a .720ish choke for tss.

Re: Is it consistent

Pellet lethality is not an exact science. KPY can predict gel penetration for a given pellet at a given velocity at a given distance. 18 gm/cc 9.5s @ 1100 fps yield 1.25" penetration to around 64 yds while 10s are good to around 54 yds. But no one really knows how much gel penetration it takes to k...

Re: why a 20 over 12

ok question most guys say 20 will do everything a 12 will my question is wouldn't a 12 gauge 3 1/2" shooting tss9 kill farther..? its got to have more whop behind it Not necessarily. A #9 pellet going 1100fps is going to have same amount of energy no matter if it is fired out of a 10 gauge or a .41...

If you are on a budget try Primos Tightwad .570. Shooting tss right? That stuff doesn't require expensive chokes.

Re: why a 20 over 12

I would say it is all about the weight to me. I have a certain limit in distance that I would shoot a turkey at, and the 20 gets me there and then some in a 1 pound lighter gun.

Re: Savage 220A 16ga

I refinished the stock, and forearm with Tru-Oil, and painted all the metal with DuraCoat Tactical Black. I sent the barrel to Mike Orlen, and had it threaded for 16ga Tru-Chokes. I put a Colonial Extra Full turkey choke in the barrel. I think I can polish the bore, and choke, and pick up a few mor...

Re: browning maxus and tss

Shoot 9's, I have saw any where from .680 to .696 do well with the Maxus. I would start cheapest first Carlson's.680. Do you have any chokes for it already?
I would def learn to roll my own. It's fun and very easy to do.

Re: Contests

I think a contest here would be fun, why not just simplify and take your best measurement from each bird. Say the weight, spurs, or beard and add that to your team total. Then you don't have to take all the pics.
