Re: New loads this 2013 season?

I am trying the same 2 3/4" load of 1 5/8oz #9's. I shot it at paper and it looks pretty good.(pattern is on hawglips' 20 ga combo thread) I am using it because it will cycle in my M2.

Re: FCW TSS buckshot loads

I don't shoot deer with buckshot, but I sure want to try a couple of these next year. In my mind it would make a great brush/cutover hunting load. Cant imagine they could go far if they take a shoulder full of this stuff.

Go on and get a 20ga. You know you want one to shoot TSS out of. Get it with a youth stock and get her started. If she does not like to hunt then you got it and can claim you did it for the child.

Re: give me our opinions (10 ga. load)

I was thinking .700 to .710. You need to listen what El Diablo says about chokes. He is the Choke Master on here. He will not steer you wrong. That's funny Shooter. I do think with the TSS it's better to start more open and work down. I think we tried five different chokes in the 835 before it stop...

Re: give me our opinions (10 ga. load)

I would just use 9's. The 8's are bad to the bone though. If I was using a 10 gauge I would think about trying to get a 2.25 oz load or a 2.5 oz load. An 8 x 9 duplex with a 1.5 oz of 8's and an ounce of nines would be sick nasty. I haven't shot any tss through a 10 gauge, but have shot it through m...

Re: The Haymaker Choke Tube from Midwest Turkey and IC

The 17-4 stainlesss steel Haymaker .560" is non-ported and contains no wad catcher features (Flite Control wad compatibility by design). I will not post dimension specifics regarding the Haymaker's forcing cone (in the choke) or its parallel section length but it should suffice to say that it will ...

Re: Federal Heavyweight Question

I recently bought a Benelli M2 20Ga. As soon as I got it I bought an Indian Creek.555 tube for it. With the Hevi 13 7's it does real good. When I shot the Fed HW 7's through the IC choke it shot not so good. So far the factory full flush choke tube that came with the gun shoots the best. 125 in a 1...

Re: TSS x Steel field tests

The pic shown of pattern is at 30 yards, and it's with a kick's hi-flyer mod choke of Browning Maxus My brother and I really couldn't be happier with it. Like Hal stated I shot a few cripples that where 45ish yards out that our buddies kept shooting at with steel 2's and the pattern wouldn't be dens...

Re: Finally got to try out the HW15 #7s out of the 28ga...

Those sound like some nasty shells! Would love to be able to shoot 3/4 oz or 7/8 TSS 8's, 9's, or HWT 7's. I would never need the ol 12 gauge again. It don't matter what shell you were using though, that's some great shooting!

Re: The ole I shot a gobbler and he never flopped..

I never had a bird not flop, until I started shooting TSS. Now it happens fairly regularly. The one I shot last week, at 44 yds, never moved a muscle after being hit, with my 28 gauge 1-5/16 oz load. I killed one in January with the same load that also didn't twitch, at 29 yds. But the one I shot i...

My brother and I both shoot the .243 barnes TTSX 80 grain bullets and have been more than impressed with the results. I shoot the 110 barnes TTSX tipped federal premium bullets out of my .270 WSM at a factory claimed 3500 fps and can also say those babies are nasty for deer.

Re: What is your number?

Speaking of the 20 ga 1 7/8 load JD, did you see this one. What was the chamber pressre of this 1 7/8 oz. TSS 20 gauge load? :dontknow: Did you or Hal check it? VERY large payload for a 20 gauge. What's the velocity? :?: At 1061 fps, it gives out 12552 psi MAP. The pattern above is a little slower ...
