Shooter's Jinx has finally been lifted

What a morning I got to share with my good friend today. I've been hunting a number of times with Shooter over the last few years and have had encounters with birds but never have been able to close the deal. That was until today. I arrived yesterday afternoon to go and help him roost another bird f...

Re: SA459 20ga choke with TSS....

There is a pretty big following with this gun and the Carlsons Ext .575. and that is what I shoot. However, it is still tight and to be honest is not much better than the factory choke that comes in it with TSS. However, it looks a little more even so I am hunting with the carslsons 575. To be hones...

Shooter Shindig 2016

A great time was had by all. The weather was perfect and the birds were somewhat responsive. FullChoke was able to connect with a bird while hunting with Shooter and Mrs Lily. Team Greenleaf (slicky and gophert) had the most action but leave empty handed. JD was snake bitten by other hunters. I'm su...

My father-n-Law runs the Ramp Festival in Vonore, TN. I've never gone because I think they are terrible, but people travel from all over the country to go to that festival.

Re: Where's Gophert and His Video Camera When You Need Him?

Have camera....will travel! I had some jakes absolutely molest my hen decoys one day. I got it all on film. The problem was having to explain what they were doing to Leah as she sat right beside me. That was in her younger days....LOL. Nothing like "having to have the talk" while turkey hunting.......

Re: Reccomendation for a youth firearm...

Here's what my daughter has used since the age of 9. Rem 870 20 ga. w/ an attached Hunters Specialties V-Pod. Makes it easy for her to hold the gun on her shoulder while the birds are on their way.

Leah hammers her first of 2016

The "turkey dance" is slowly getting less and less the older she gets. She has really become a fantastic turkey hunter. Other than call, all I do is tell her when he's in the camera.

Leah hammers her first of 2016

First let me say, my camera skills were TERRIBLE today. I did not get the kill shot. I have no idea what happened. I thought I hit record, but I must have hit record twice because all I got was the bird standing in front of us for about 1 second. The birds were vocal as usual. They've been flying do...

RSF vs IC .555

In reality the IC 562 is the perfect choke for that combo. I had both the IC 555 and 562 and the 562 was a little better hunting pattern. The 555 however was easier to find and a little tighter of course.

The IC will be smoking whatever you shoot....most consistent choke made IMO

I too probably need the Carlsons 585 Ext.....I just didn't want to have to shoot again before season.
