Re: Bore cleaner
I would use Hope's #9 Elite gun Cleaner, There is no odor what so ever, as there is with regular Hope's #9. Also they say it cleans down to the pores of the metal. It says it removes fouling down to the molecular level That other cleaners cannot touch. Also it says it removes carbon, lead and most c...

Re: New shotgun scope
I have been using scopes on my turkey guns since 1992, Last year I bought the Fast Fire 3 sight, since I bought a new gun, Works just like a scope, no magnification, battery lasts just about forever, has a low battery indicator so you won't get caught at the wrong time out of juice, also has a lifet...

Re: Another gun question
Wander why ff 3 doesn't make a alluminum protective shroud I don't know but if you ever hear of a better protective shroud post it, I have been looking everywhere for one. I don't like walking around in the woods without a cover on it for fear of the lens getting trash in it. I also think that the ...

Re: New gun..?
Put a Fastfire 3 on that SX3 NWTF and put whatever choke you want in it. If you want to hunt small game go with a modified choke and 2 3/4 inch shells, it will do ok.

Re: Question on 870
How much are you expecting to pay for a stock. Bass Pro has a youth 20 ga blued for 329.99. Cheaper than dirt has one for 338.00. Looks like a youth stock is about 80.00, don't know how much a full size stock would run, I guess you could figure roughly the same or more as the youth stock. Bass Pro w...

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I don't think you will find any gun, choke or shell setup that you will be happy with. Good Luck I hope you do.

Re: scope or red dot?
One other thing you can do with a red dot, is to slip in a modified choke in your turkey barrel and use 2 3/4 inch shells to hunt pheasant, squirrel, dove, quail, or rabbits. Using both eyes open acquiring a target is fast and accurate. The only scope I know of that can come close to this is a nikon...

Re: Pattern/barrel problem
It might just be me, but as tight as that pattern is I would put a fastfire 3 on the gun pattern it for 40 yards and hunt the setup. As tight as I see it you will need at least a red dot for close in work anyway. I'd like to see a pattern at 40 yards. As far as you feeling you are loosing a few shot...

Re: Fast Fire Battery Issues
The fastfire 3 has a low battery indicator which is, The dot blinks twice every 5 seconds, it is suppose to mean you have approximately 4 hours of battery life left.

Re: leopold delta point
I don't think you have to keep the fastfire 3 perfectly centered, it is parallax free from 10 to 150 yards, I am going to pattern my SX3 and sight in around june 27th. I'll let you know.

Re: Help with red dot selection and research
You might look at a ultradotwest, they cost about as much as a fastfire 3 but have a lifetime warranty. A fastfire 3 is warranted for 1 year. here is one ultradotwest similar to the fastfire 3 http://www.ultradotwest.com/ultradot_2008_007.htm
Most of the red dot scopes have very little warranty.

Re: scope or red dot?
I use both, I have a nikon 1x4 Monarch that if set on 1x you can keep both eyes open just like a red dot. Lifetime warranty on the monarch. I also use a fastfire III, you have one setting that automatically adjusts the red dot for the available light, and three other manual settings. With the red do...

Re: Don't lean your gun on a tree.....
I did that once when I first started turkey hunting, leaned my gun against the tree while I put out my decoys, turned around and I couldn't see it, couldn't find it. Finally I thought about it I had paced off 25 steps to put the decoys out. All I had to do was walk 25 steps back and found it. Ever s...

Has anyone tried one of these? Considering one for the .410, and from what I was able to find to read about it, it sounds pretty good. http://www.amazon.com/Weaver-Micro-Red-Dot-Sight/dp/B00AU68MD6 I've also considered this.... http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Trophy-Strike-Reticle-Riflescope/dp/B006...
