Re: Big Changes for Kansas
I'm not sure where I read it. It was more than likely a study through The southeast wild turkey working group. Brett Collier a biologist from LSU who is not affiliated with any game and fish commission or the nWTF has been in the center of most wild turkey studies. You can find some good reading by ...

Re: Big Changes for Kansas
There has been recent studies proving that hen's choose the gobbler they want to breed with. If that gobbler gets killed before the hen's get breed that disrupts the breeding cycle. The southeastern group of biologist have been pushing for later season dates for quite sometime. The problem is most m...

Re: Rare turkey call collection
I loved the article and have read it in the past. I will never forget when the call hit ebay. I had read of the ties he had with Renaud whom was from New Orleans if I remember correctly and knew right away what it actually was. I had also read where he was murdered by a poacher near Hammond La. in T...

Re: The outlawing of male turkey decoys
Well, maybe there ought to be a law protecting anyone who accidentally shoots one of these fools. tail-chaser-max-field-no-background.jpg I'll be more than a little put out if the government restricts dekes or requires steel shot, or worse yet, bans pork fat. Actually there are some laws in effect....

Re: The outlawing of male turkey decoys
I have not been to Nashville for the show in 6 years, but went this week because I had to pick up a mount from Cally. If you were there, the white headed Gould's strutting for the bearded hen was my piece. Cally is amazing, but that is another thread. I was utterly disgusted at the number of reapin...

Re: 20 ga. 1-5/8 TSS vs. Same in 12 ga.
I loaded three different 2.0 oz. 12 gauge recipes that were shot out of three different guns involving 11 different chokes and none of those would even come close to the 1 5/8 load in the 20 gauges I shot it in. I have to load 2.25oz's of TSS in my 12 just to equal the numbers in my 20.

Re: Hal’s 2 1/8oz 20ga load
WOW....I had to load 2.25 oz. 12 gauge loads just so my 12 would out shoot my 20gauge 1 5/8 load. There is no doubt in my mine that this load will outshoot my 12 gauge now.
