Re: Boykin Spaniel
I have heard of some guys down your way that hunt Boykins. If you hear of any, let me know. They do seem to be more popular down south, in states without a fall turkey season.vaturkey wrote:I've always heard the best Boykin breeders were in Georgia ,SC, & Alabama. Don't know why !

I never go into the woods without my vest and attached cushion, but often find myself sliding out of it to crawl. I have killed them sitting, kneeling and prone, but never standing.

Oh and by the way, while your out there you might as well hunt the Black Hills! 1 Tag only there, but that bumps you up to 4 tags while your in South Dakota.

Re: Pine Ridge SD
I hunter there last spring. The weather was rough (wind, rain, sleet, 3 inches of snow and mud that made it rough to get around in a 4WD). We were there 3 days, but only got to hunt one day due to weather. I killed 1 and my buddy missed one. If you are still interested, pm me and I will give you the...

Re: Lots Of Food For The Game This Year !
Autumn Olive indeed. We have tons of that crap in my part of Va. Its considered a invasive species. Once it gets
started, there's no stopping it. It keeps spreading and eventually takes over. I wish we did not have it. I have been fighting it since I select cut my place a few years ago!!

Tried my best the other day to get one of my chickens to squeal. No matter how hard I tried she would not squeal. I am starting to thinks hens do not squeal. The whole idea may be a hoax. Just sayin!!

What they need to come out with is a set of dentures with a built in diaphragm for the old guys. If he remember to put his teeth in he would not be without a diaphragm. Or vice versa. I would give one to my old hunting buddy, he looks scary without his teeth!!!

They are fascinating. Have seen a few cross the road many years ago in Va. Then in the last 8 years I have seen 3, all on my property. Had 1 walk thru my back yard 1 Sat morning like he owned the place. I had cleaned some geese and put the carcasses in the woods behind house, I guess he liked that. ...

I shot those Active shells for years out of a 835. Killed a bunch of turkeys with that combo. Now days when I can't remember something I blame it, never mind I forgot what I was saying.
