Re: NWTF 1300 20ga. Value
I know that gun, mine isn’t new and in the box: Let’s hear some stories about that gun! I haven’t had it in my collection long. I bought the 12 ga version (there were several variations) back in ‘99 as a college graduation for myself after wanting it as a kid when it came out in ‘89. It wasn’t unti...

I have two. Re: Mexico rio bird
I finished my Mexican slam last month with Yukkutz. Long spurred birds. We flew into San Antonio and crossed the border in Eagle Pass, TX. Great lodge, great food and great hunting. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220528/85862c3d5cb36f41031e9c63a7b2fac8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202205...

Re: 870 16ga compact found!
I liked the Remington ShurShot back then. I had William Lambert drill it, tap it and put a Picatinny rail on it. I installed a Timney trigger, had William’s choke in it (I think it’s .599). I only had an EOTech on it but I will switch that up before I shoot it again. I think 2021 will be a good year...

Re: 870 16ga compact found!
That’s the same gun that brought me to handloading, TSS and Gobbler Nation back in 2013! Hal helped me build a 1 7/8 oz load and William at Sumtoy built his first 16ga turkey choke for it. I killed birds with it in ‘13, ‘14 and ‘16. Been 5 years since I shot it, this post reminded me. Took birds in ...

Re: Russell Snake Boots
I’m obviously a fan! I have had several different soles. It really depends on where you are hunting. My first pair I bought 20 years ago and I was hunting a good bit in West Virginia on a farm with steep hills and lots of copperheads. The first pair of soles I had were the Full Claw Air-Bob. They ar...

How did you like Tall Timber Gabriels? Reading the package of the Primos call with the same name, the gentleman that wrote it seems like an interesting fellow. I’d like to read it as I haven’t found a copy yet.

Re: Turkeys with a bow???
I never shoot past 19 yards and using a blind, I found that 6 yards is my favorite distance for my decoys. I use a Double Bull with only one window fully open, so I can draw back before they walk in the decoys.

Re: Turkeys with a bow???
You are off to the right start with the Magnus Bullhead. I bought them with the long Victory arrows that have 4 5" feathers that come in with the Bullhead 125s. My bow was tuned to my normal whitetail arrows, but the long arrows and the Magnus bullheads were dead on out to 19 yards then they st...

Re: Remington 870 wingmaster 28 gauge
Back in 2016 I did a Grand Slam with TSS handloads using a 28ga 870 Express with a fixed modified choke. I ended up killing 6 birds with that gun that year (4 of them between 40 and 50 yards). Here was my pattern with the modified choke using TSS #9 with Hal’s 1 1/2 oz recipe: https://uploads.tapata...
