Re: My thoughts..
The tension always builds as some wait for their season to open. Some of y'all really need to kill a turkey. And some of y'all need a boiler room because you just like to argue. I like to engage in that a little sometimes myself. Also, dekes are ghey. I warn new hunters away from the use of dolls be...

Re: Georgia season changes
The theory was always that season should start after peak breeding. There was no need for a study to determine seasons were starting earlier than they should. All of the recent work I have seen has been just going through the motions to quantify what was already known. Some of it has been ridiculous...

Gobbler with shrooms gravy
This is my wife's plate. I put the morel gravy on everything and was well tucked in while she was still fiddling with the camera. Mighty fine.

Re: Georgia season changes
I would call GA an honor system because you don't have to report or be accurate when you do. It relies on compliance with unenforceable rules. I know people who don't report. I met a fella who thought he had a gobbler and had reported his year old prize as such. I have been acquainted with a fella w...

Re: The one decoy you would not leave @ home
Your stories are good examples of why a new hunter should not confuse themselves by trying to figure out dekes in addition to all the other aspects.
So, leave them all at home. Better yet leave them at the store and learn how to sit to a gobbler without the silly things.

RST bismuth loads?
I think the least serviced part of the market is load data. See my avatar for explanation. A comprehensive load manual would have me reaching for my wallet.

Re: Input on 410 O/U
I'd call Mossberg and see what they say about barrel regulation. How far off does POI have to be from POA before they correct? How do they test? When I talked to Stevens, they were really confused about how that works.

Re: Georgia season changes
There was a long lull in timber harvest due to economic depression. Over the past couple of years timber harvest has increased. Increased timber harvest increases turkey habitat. I am seeing birds in places they have not been in a few years, at least. If you travel around rural Georgia you see new t...

Re: Are these good?
Morels have a mild but excellent mushroom flavor. I don't think they're worth the hype, but then they are rare around here. If I had what Yule has I might feel differently. Best shroom I've had from GA so far is chicken of the woods. I've carried one the size of a football around half a day while tu...

2023. They gonna shorten our season and reduce the limit. Just in time to take credit as numbers are on the rise due to increased timber harvest.
Gonna be unintended consequences.

Re: Electronic hearing
You can get hearing aids that cut out at loud noises just like electronic ear muffs. Custom molded foam is comfortable to wear all day. I use molded ear plugs for everything like power equipment, parades, concerts, etc. The prices are high enough that there's probably some medical insurance angle on...

Re: Electronic hearing
Tried a few different types. Best were Walkers game ears. I would use them turned down to hearing at only very slightly amplified over normal. I would still use them but sweat killed two. Too expensive for my budget to replace over and over. Good quality hearing aids might hold up better. I never tr...

For some reason my wife started screeching when I sent her the pic. And then got mad because I said I was too busy turkey hunting to pick any.

Re: 28ga. double or auto
By pushing the envelope I meant distance or wanting impressive patterns. You get 500 pellets of tss going out the barrel and limit to normal distances, then thorough testing probably isn't necessary just to kill gobblers. I have seen differences at distance because I tested past forty when first get...

I'm gonna wear them regardless when it is cool of a morning. I take them off to use calls. Put them on between times or if I believe it's coming. It's not so much for when holding the gun as it is to cover those little flashes a move of the hand makes. I have stopped wearing a face mask unless I'm p...

Cutting timber
We've discussed shot size for penetration at distance plenty. How about effectiveness shooting through cover? Had to get in some serious trash to seal the deal yesterday. T9s were impressive. Making me rethink moving to 1.25 and T9.5s.

Seems like the baby frame aluminum doubles hit 5#, generally. Haven't seen one with a straight stock yet. Is that TriStar neutral or twisted? As an aside, Yildiz isn't the only gun with free return shipping via the Academy gun counter anymore. The manager at the location in Warner Robins, GA told me...

Yes, with lighter loads or if pushing the envelope. This is in reference to O/Us, not SxS.

Hard to find because it is a bad idea. I have a 20" camo barrel for Mossberg 500. Kicks so hard the rib is loose. Or maybe the muzzle blast unseats it.
Trade for 24" parkerized.
